Neji got trolled by kishi as we never got to see his potential or development as a shinobi. Far too much emphasis on the main characters and the uchiha in general for my liking

I actually thought it was Hinata's father at first so when I realized it was Neji, the shock hit me pretty fast! lol Hinata dying would have made less sense since she already came close to death protecting Naruto last time. Neji stepping in there and doing what his father did for the love of his brother was a perfect way to end his story.
