Neji was a means to an end

He had no purpose because of Hinata, sure he brought awareness to the Hyuuga branch prejudice but, because Hinata was already the Hyuuga of the rookie he wasn't needed. The Hyuuga aren't like the Uchiha, swapping eyes won't give a power up.
Do you guys feel he was needed?
Or maybe Hinata wasn't. I think Kishi ran out of ideas for characters,

Neji wasn't needed IMO. AT least Hinata can be used for pairings. He literally had no purpose. And plus action-wise Neji was just like a really stronger version of Hinata. He was a boring character to me

I feel the same. It shouldn't have happened that way, Neji had huge potential as a character but that ended when pt 1 did.

No, Actually he was needed. He was actually an important part of the story since he was the one who talked about fate which is a major theme of Kishi's. Well it was in Part 1. So without Neji, Rocklee's passion for hard work wouldn't be the same and without Neji the whole story about the Hyuuga clan would be bland. Also without Neji, naruto would have less character development.
