Sasuke's genjutsu on Manda didn't last long at all. It lasted just long enough for Sasuuke to avoid Deidara's blast.

Why would sasuke need to continue to control manda after his purpose was served? Or maybe it was because sasuke was left near death by the blast.

Not like it matters, sasuke can fly so avoiding neji( a close combat fighter) would be cake.

He could just fly and shoot Fire dragons into the sky. Same Ending different trip

Sasuke's attacks are close range, so flying isn't the best option. The best Sasuke could do is throw Shuriken, or Chidori. Even then, Neji could easily dodge the chidori spear or rotate the shuriken. Sauske would have no choice but to make it a close combat battle.

I don't think Sasuke can fly that long. What if neji throws kunais or shurikens at him while he is flying or he vacuum palms him?

Even if sasuke fires a few fire balls or chidori spears, can't neji rotate them away?

It took more than those firballs. He also used the heat from Itachi's amaterasu to fuel it as well. Sasuke alo has to be atop something tall to pull off Kirin as well, or he would just be attacked alongside Neji.
