Neji vs Sasuke incoming?

Well, we have not seen Neji in this chapter. Not even in the chapter where all the rookies we know were said to come and help Naruto. I find it kind of strange especially for a character who had such a great importance in part1, a character who was considered as stronger than Sasuke, as the strongest rookie in the chunin exam. That's why i came up with a theory concerning it. I think Neji is not there because Kishimoto reserves him a great part in this war.

Anyway, remember that Kishimoto said Sasuke and Naruto will meet in this war(in an interview), but Orochimaru states that he has no interest in this war and that they(Orochimaru and Sasuke) are going in a place that Sasuke knows perfectly well, which confirms that they are not going in a battlefield.

So what if they meet Neji, Kankuro(who wasn't also presented), Chojuro, Akatsuchi with an army of other shinobis in the meanwhile? It's probably after meeting them that Sasuke would change his opinion and would decide to meet Naruto? I know Neji is not strong enough to compete with either Sasuke or Orochimaru, but it could be a great occasion for Kishi to show us great improvments concerning Neji, some new tricks concerning Byakugan. If it arrives, it's highly probable that Neji will die though and it would only further increase Naruto's motive in the final fight to deal with Sasuke

Neji at the VOTE said that Sasuke already closed his eyes, so it could be a good introduction if they ever met. It would also be a good opportunity to see Orochimaru fighting with all his skills against the remaining Shinobis of the army. Suigetsu said he wanted to collect the 7swords. It's why i think he would probably meet Chojuro. For Kankuro, he would probably fight Juugo

that match up would be interesting if it was held some time earlier in the manga since Sasuke is way too op right now

However, if Neji unlocks something like a stronger Byakugan, maybe he'd be able to do something.

Or, maybe Neji might learn Chidori to represent Kakashi so that it is Neji and Lee like Gai and Kakashi.

Maybe this could happen, but I doubt it.

Of course, but it's not always because you're not interested on someone that you will never meet him. If Neji and Sasuke meet randomly for example, they would most likely fight since Sasuke is still considered as a threat for Konoha and Neji intended to deal with Sasuke when he was talking with Shikamaru, Naruto and the other rookies. It's true that if they meet and fight, he will probably die though

I doubt it'll happen but I'd love it to. Regardless of whether Neji dies or gets stomped, I just think he needs more development as a character 'cause right now he's an ordinary unused character with the fairly prestigious Jonin rank. Lets see some Gai/Kakashi standard stuff from Neji.

Sasuke doesn't even need Susano'o to beat Neji, just trap him in Genjutsu followed by a kunai to the face. Game over.

Well Neji along with Kankuro and some others would die horrible deaths against Sasuke due to his super fast jutsu, blood lust attitude and overall hax. I do agree that we should see a Neji, Kankuro and Shino fight against Jugo, Suigetsu and Orochimaru. I always wanted to see if Orochimaru can tank gentle fist and always saw a fight between Neji and Orochimaru somewhat interesting even though it is probably a stomp in Oro's favour. Shino's bugs could just eat away at Oro. Sasuke will probably kill the Konoha elders.

While I am not sure there will be a fight I do believe that Sasuke is going to run into the Konoha 11 at one point or another and only spare them because of his promise to kill Naruto first. I do believe that he will reveal the truth of the massacre to them at one point or another.

Thanks. It's true that Sasuke is too powerful right now for Neji to even have a chance, at least theoritically, but i still believe that Neji has to do something important. He is the one said to be a genius surpassing even main members of the Hyuga clan, the first one who became jounin in konoha between all those rookies. I just hope Kishi won't make this character useless after all what said about him in part1 and the fact we didn't see him between the rookies makes me think about this possibility
