Without any effort , neji's byakugan combined with his ultimate defense (chakra shield/kaiten ) renders Lee's attacks utterly useless in cqc while gentle fist is way too dangerous for Lee to even risk it.

-His speed is casually reacted to in the same way Lee himself was able to casually manoeuvre around gaara's sand with no diff.

Lee loses this fight the moment he comes within range of neji's jyuken.

Cause I dont think its not too far of a stretch to say Neji has his ways on taking out Gated Lee.

My reasoning is based on this scan:

Now keep in mind that this was Neji's stamina during that time 1.
2. Neji should logically create a bit larger field of chakra than he could then.
3. This move was to protect Neji, specifically from his blind spot. Not a direct attack.

So the scenario's would be a bit different here.

Now a chakra aura thats able to change the trajectory of a projectile, with its velocity to bend trees around it, and penetrated force capable of goring the earth is where I think its fair to conclude slowing down Gated Lee's blitz+plus fast strikes.

It should be enough to say that this battle could go either way.
