given that those were fodder ninjas im not sure how that would count as a viable feat since sasuke is of a higher caliber than those ninjas and could take them out with ease.

Neji was doing the same thing against white zetsu during the war with the alliance being completely outnumbered.

Yea and? Its not like Itachi is a god. He is still human and therefore comparable to other human beings in this series. In CQC Neji is superior to itachi because that is his forte and what he has mastered being a genius himself. What makes itachi so great is his sharingan abilities, genjutsu prowess, above average proficiency in all other areas of combat and his smarts all in one person.

Yes I did. The byakugan was made to allow the user to see in all directions, and hyuugas are trained to react to anything that comes within his field of vision, which basically means anything around himself.

Plus he might have had some backup, but then again, they were fighting a higher multitude of enemies in the thousands unlike Sasuke here who likely only killed about 100 or so. Remember that Neji as a kid effortlessly evaded many shadow clones of naruto at once during the chuunin exams.

Itachi speed and taijutsu are actually pretty close with Neji with Itachi only having a slight edge in footspeed, but neji having clearly faster reactions and handspeed and overall knowledge/experience of taijutsu which is crucial for CQC. The only way he could win is if he had the use of genjutsu, ninjutsu and possibly MS to win.

Neji has many techniques that give him an upper hand in CQC that itachi doesn't have that would make it easier for Neji to land blows such as rotation and air palm. Even 64 palms would be a viable counter considering when he uses it that his hands are moving at extremely fast speed second only to gai using morning peacock.

Not gonna deny that. It's been a while where I even saw Neji do something significant so I forgot exactly what he's capable of. I do know he has the 64 palms and can close the chakra network. But he simply cannot match Itachi's speed and skill. Go look at Itachi's speed feats than come talk to me. Sasuke with his Sharingan could not keep up with Killer Bee's movements, do you understand what that means? Yea saying what Itachi can do Neji can also do is not a good argument at all. Itachi indeed has some of the best speed feats in the entire show. If you read the entire fight with Naruto, Nagato, and Killer Bee, you'll notice this. He was overwhelming Naruto in Kyubi chakra mode

Not only that but he trains daily with people like guy and lee who are also considered to faster than him on foot as well and notably faster than itachi. Their speed difference in the databook is only .5 and that was back near the beginning of shippuden. However, much time has passed since then.

Sasuke and itachi are not a top tier in speed. That right there is just not debatable. They may be faster then most average shinobi, but people who have speed that almost no one can react to like the raikages in lighting armor and guy/lee in gates far outclass him. Bee is only top tier when using V2 mode but in this case its restricted so he can only use his base mode, where his speed is just like itachis and sasukes, well above average, but not top tier.

Neji's speed has been indicated by his feats to be above average as well though slightly lower than itachi and guy. Neji, Sasuke, Lee, Kimmimaro, Kakashi, Deidara, Kiba, Asuma, and Jiraiya are all people who have a 4.5 in speed in the databook, which means that their speed is relatively the same and not that much difference that people like itachi and guy with a 5 in speed
