Neji Vs. Gaara

This is an Interesting match-up, but I wonder if Neji has the speed to get around Gaara's sand.
Yes his long ranged air palms are powerful, but how powerful? How often can he use it? Failure on kishi's end cuz we never see it fully utilized.
And if somehow he passes gaara's sand , can jyuuken really perice his sand armor.
He can fend of many of gaara's sand attacks with his Rotation, but I doubt idk about the Dessert Tsunami thing.
Their both Genius fighters, But Gaara Having had tasted a bjiuu's maybe not necessarily using it, is of a different scale than neji. Even at his Young age.

Gaara, Neji has always had a good attack/defense balance, but he never had VERY impressive speed, he is a taijutsu major and a good one at that. but Gaara is just a bad match for him in every way imaginable.
Byakugan could possibly prevent Neji being SURPRISED by sand armor, but Pt 1 neji doesnt have a good enough kill shot to get through sand shield, sand armor, AND do substantial damage to Gaara. Lee had a better chance because he has an all-out do or die kill move like hidden lotus, which goes along with his fighting style
gentle fist is more reserved, better for staying safe, unfortunately he would nOT be safe from Gaara of the desert

Actually neji had decent speed in part 1 and gaara sand wasnt that fast like it is now. Gaara sand is chakra infused so he could make it move. Neji with his gentile fist can chop his sand away til he hits him.

Thats a good point there, although i think there is a big difference between chakra-infused webbing and Gaara's sand, the sand is a constantly changing, breaking and reforming mass, and Neji's taijutsu strikes are very pinpointed, i hate to keep referencing back to Lee but they are good opposites, when lee strikes,his emphasis is POWER, which is why his brutal fist style was able to chop and blast garras sand guard away, while nejis emphasis is on precision, he would be better at outmatching a quick-dodging opponent like Lee, but not with a relentless guard, Nejis rotation also would be useful to keepthe sand at a distance, but given that garra can float on his sand, and cover such MASSIVE areas with it,he can come from anywhere
Well Neji gentle fist is much dangerous then rock lee strong fist, neji killed kidomaru with a few punches to the organs and I restricted gaara biju shukaku. plus this is the Chunin exam when he fought lee so he not out in the desert

I didnt say either one was more or less dangerous, they are different fighting styles, and like i explained before, one is about raw force and power while the other is about focused, piercing strikes, i just dont think Neji would be able to keep the sand off him to be honest, just my opinion, i give neji credit because during the exams they all referred to him as the strongest of the leaf genin, but Gaara is another story, even with no info for either of them,gaara mid difficult
This would be a very good fight to see...
Neji is a close range fighter with some mid ranged techniques,but he's at a disadvantage against someone who on the on the other hand is a very well versed mid long range fighter like Gaara.So Neji starts off with the need to close up the distance if he wants to successfully land his Juken .
Gaara on the other hand has to keep Neji at distance,issue which I believe for him not to be a problem as he's shown tremendous speed improvement when it comes to manipulating his sand.
Neji could opt for the Hakke Kūshō to hit Gaara from the distance,or use the Hakkeshō Kaiten to fend off the sand.
In this match up Neji is faced with a serious disadvantage as he not only needs to fight someone who is a long range fighter but also can boost tremendous defense like the Saikō Zettai Bōgyo: Shukaku no Tate or even a lesser shield of sand to negate all Neji's attack
When Gaara goes o the offensiv it becomes quite nearly impossible for Neki to avoid Rendan: Suna Shigure chained with a Gokusa Maisō + Sabaku Taisō
This match most likely goes to Gaara 9/10.

Gaara wins this and without too much of a fight.
Lee's speed was superior to Neji's from every angle and he also had more power. Neji won't get past the sand defence.
If somehow Neji gets past the regular defence,his gentle fist won't do anything against Gaara's sand armour. He can't disconnect chakra networks through an inch or whatever of sand as far as we know.
Additionally, Neji doesn't have the endurance to take any of the punishment Gaara can offer, and Gaara can continuesly attack from all angles.
