Neji is no genius

Genius means talented or have tendency to achieve a certain thing.

Neji accomplished main family techniques like 8 triagrams 64 palms and kaiten by observation and talent, those techniques are only passed down in main family blood but he mastered them when he was a kid despite being a side branch member.

Genius does not stricly mean overly intelligent in NV standarts. Kakashi even called Lee a genius at some point of time for being able to open gates at early ages.

And dont go strictly over databook for seeing someone's power or abilities, databook also says Iruka is more powerful than Lee and Temari by stat combinations. Databook also gave Tenten and Hinata 3,5 in intelligence yet they are nothing above Neji or Ino who have 3 at this department, or imo even Lee who has 2. Neji is one of the most analytic/intelligent people from his generation.

The last real work Naruto did was learn the rasengan. After that he learned he could spam his Uzumaki Heritage to learn anything he wants in 2 days max. After that he stopped working at all and just started leaching off of a chakra demon.

If hard work meant anything anymore, Lee would be OP. Have you looked at most top 10 lists? 90% KKG and Jinchuriki users.

OT: neji was a genius and was above most of the K11(excluding shikamaru) in analytical skills and intellect, OP if you measure intelligence by databook stats you have already gone wrong, neji took down and outsmarted someone of kidomaru caliber who was at a jounin level. learning alot of jutsus doesnt make you a genius again shikamaru for exampleuses only his shadow possession are you going to say he isnt a genius?

You people are dense. Genius does not always equate intellect. Neji was a genius ninja. He was able to master his Byakugan despite his birth restrictions. He learned techniques most main branch Hyugas can't just by watching, with no tutor i.e Rotation, 64 palms. Those jutsus are some of the Hyugas most prized ones. He could see the tenketsu (chakra points, and use them effectively in battle, even Kakashi said that was no small feat). Being a genius is not about you QI.

I considered that he might be a genius in taijutsu but he doesn't even have a 5 in that, sure he was able to learn hyuga techs without training but he is a hyuga after all.

He's honestly shown nothing other than mediocre analytical prowess, outmatched by every other so called genius.

Im a fan but his genius is all hype imo.

Neji went from Genin to Jounin in the time skip, only one in Konoha's genins. He was like 17 years old in the beginning of Shippuden, having a 3 in intelligence is still good. The Hyuuga clan taijutsu is the strongest style in Konoha and Neji self taught himself jutsus that surprised Hinata's father. Neji's analysis was so good that he was able to know what Hinata was thinking just by slight body movements when they fought in the chunin exam.

All of the Sound 4 base is chunin level, with CM it's even higher. Neji went up against the smartest one who also had the advantage and won. Neji's mastery of the gentle fist allowed him to release chakra from all his chakra openings/points to break out of Kisame's water prison and saving himself and his teammates.

Nope, Sakura's only hype was her chakra control, strength and knowledge of poisons. Her feats and the same as her hype plus Yin seal. Versatility? She only punch, heal and summon. Konohamaru has more versatility than Sakura, he shown shadow clones, rasengan, fire jutsu, sexy jutsu.

Neji was also a genius in battle, being able to compensate for his weaknesses such as his blind spot and creating new techniques derived from his masterly refined chakra control to be able to sense his environment and even narrow it down to just his weak spot. He was a taijutsu virtuoso of the Hyuga clans gentle fist and could easily keep up with any elite jounin in hand-to-hand fighting and could easily read his opponents movements to gauge their skill and predict their movements to a certain extent by observing their body movements.

Overall, his genius comes not just from his ability to grasp things quickly, and skill with his body, but mainly from his unparalleled observation and analytical skills, and then being able to apply his findings directly in the heat of battle.
