[Theory] Neither Sasuke or Naruto really wants to fight the other

The fight so far hasn't seemed that high powered versus what we have seen these guys do. For instance, Sasuke isn't using enton or Amaterasu yet, and Naruto isn't pulling out bijuudama or huge rasengan or rasen-shuriken. So here's my theory.

They don't really want to fight each other. Meeting up during the war made them realize again they really are both friends. Naruto wants to work with Sasuke, but he knows Sasuke needs to do it alone. Sasuke wants to believe Naruto can help him change the world, but Sasuke sees that Naruto is the Jinch of all 10 TB now. So he has to kill his friend and work alone.

I don't think black flames will do much against Naruto. Chidori seems more powerful than Enton, IMO.

Sasuke doesn't want to fight Naruto? Yet he was the one who initiated it and using that fireball technique used his S/T to get behind Naruto and tried using Chidori to end it right there so I'm quite sure at least Sasuke is wanting to fight seriously though Naruto as Sasuke stated is holding back because he isn't fighting to beat him to death like in VoTe 1 he is trying to save Sasuke.

I agree, plus Sauske used fireball because it blanketed an area so Naruto would have to tank it or go around it, giving time for him to sneak attack. It didn't work, naruto is a crazy sensor type now... but that's why he used standard fire verses black flame.

A lot of attacks can't be spammed against naruto just due to the simple fact they are on a completely different echelon than previous opponents.

Side note: In all honestly I think Naruto's chakra cloak might even protect him from the black flame... but thats just a theory.

I mean, Sasuke wants to fight but he doesn't want to go all out if Naruto isn't going to do so. He's been waiting for this fight, even before he made his Hokage decision. He's seen how Naruto has grown and is curious how he measures up to him. He wants Naruto to be at his best so he can try and defeat him at his best.

Sasuke is too prideful, if he was to beat Naruto while he was holding back, he'd only remember it as a fight where he didn't truly know who the stronger man was. That's why he's actually initiating conversation for once, something we don't usually see Sasuke do. He's encouraging Naruto to bring out his best so that he can respond with his own best.

True Sasuke only fighting Naruto because he sees this as the only way so he must do it.

 

[Flaming Amaterasu]

Sasuke and Naruto both understand each other now and they don't want to kill each other, hence Sasuke being talkative for once. They're both confused, feel they need to do something to come to an agreement, but do not know what that is as of yet. A typical bromance story.
