[Question] Neg Rep Abuse

Hey guys/gals/others,

What exactly would be grounds for abusing the rep system? Other than of course consistently neg repping someone for no reason. Where do we draw that line though? Would neg repping someone for merely posting an opinion count as abuse? Mind you we're not talking about troll posts, or general nonsense. I mean clear, thought out opinions that someone else just so happens to get hurt over.

If you disagree with someone then that's not a reason to -rep. Only if they break lots of rules, then you can -rep.

Rep Abuse: While it is normal to give reputation to people who help you or have done something you found interesting for the forum, repeatedly asking for people to rep you, to rate your profile, or the participation in games like "rep me and I will rep you" are considered "cheating" and are not allowed. If caught spreading reputation points, Admins can set your points to 0. To question or try get your reputation back will result in that the reputation bar gets inactivated for the user. To write in a post that you gave negative or positive reputation is not allowed either as it is seen as a attempt to get rep back from other members.
If negative reputation will be used by inappropriate reasons / spammed and reported. Administrators will take action.

honestly if you cant use common sense for this then perhaps you shouldnt bother giving rep and neg rep. It is just common sense,if you think someones post is clever or makes a good point you rep it. If its a rude post or spam,flaming trolling or just straight up making stupid comments to annoy you,you neg rep them. If they persist with doing any of the above then you report it. Its pretty basic stuff man...

Someone breaking the rules, really obnoxious post, and spam is all i feel that is really great to neg rep for!

Other than that you got to give a liable reason.

Any other thing is you would spam neg reps constantly. That can be advoided with the call of a mod.

Of course its basic common sense, but then again common sense is not so common. I just want to know where we draw the line and what I can do to report abuse for stupid things. Thanks for the input though

See it's weird because I hardly ever neg rep anyone. It's only for trolling blatantly stupid stuff that I neg rep. Otherwise I can't see a reason to be a tool about it going around neg repping because they "like the wrong color" or whatever.

When I get neg repped, I just neg rep them back. Then they either procede to write bad things on my wall...(theRPGdude) or just do not care, because I have 1 rep power.

Counter too people flaming you on your wall.

1.) Report it.It took 10 minutes or less too get a bad message off my wall. Not really hard.

But in all, I believe neg rep should be a mod only power.

Well, someone neg repped me for creating him an avatar, with a stupid 4$$ comment, and so I reported his thread saying what exactly happened now he's banned.

If you report neg rep abuse in details, administrators and moderators will take action like Kages said.

Btw, if it's a useless one, ID rather leave it...
