How are Juugo's clan and Ryuuchidou connected?

I understand that the clan was probably related to the Sage himself. How can one be a Sage like Naruto or Jiraiya and still carry the title of The Six Paths? By having a body that constantly absorbs Natural energy and having a Rinnegan I guess. But I want to know if there is a direct connection between the two. Why does Kabuto and Orochimaru's sage mode look nothing like the Cursed Seal or Juugo's natural state?

The connection has to go deeper than just Sage chakra, unless I misunderstood, Juugo's abilities led to Orochimaru's discovery of Ryuuchidou.

Theory:
Is it possible that all animal villages that bestow summoning contracts originally worked for one specific clan?
Sarutobi- Monkey
Senju- Frog, Slug
Uchiha- Hawk
Hatake- Dog
