Need a new laptop. Help!

Hey guys. I little bit about me: I'm a graduating HS senior heading off to an university so I'll be needing a pretty powerful laptop that has portability too.
For example, I'm looking for a laptop that can run multiple tabs at once while having ppt or video/music/photo editing in the background without a problem.
I'm also looking for something that is less than 3 pounds but has the power to run some games like CS:GO, LoL, MC, and TF2.
Also, a beautiful design and screen resolution would be nice too, but optional.
I'm fine with either mac or Windows.
So far, I've narrowed down my search to Macbook Air 13 inch (2015) and Dell XPS 13 (2015)
Do you guys have any other suggestions?

I'm a freshman in college and I have an acer Chromebook c720. I don't play any PC games, so I don't need anything like that. It can write papers and be on the internet. As a college student, that's really all you need from a computer. You don't need a $1300 computer for taking notes and writing papers. That's stupid.

I got a $1000 scholarship for my dorm needs along with a full ride scholarship, so money isn't really an issue. Also, I'll be taking some CS and production classes so I think I might need a somewhat powerful laptop.

Whatever your case is, if you're looking for a laptop for all purposes like gaming, watching videos, videos editing, photoshop and more, you're gonna need to spend over $1500 to get the perfect laptop you could ask for.

I'm using TOSHIBA Qosmio right now, 24.47 inches screen. Bought it 2 years ago.

- Intel Core i7
- 12 GB RAM
- 2 GB Separated Graphic Card
- 2 TB HDD
- Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

Despite that all the softwares are original, the laptop hangs for unknown reason. I use Photoshop CS7 64bit, and same thing to Sony Vegas Pro. Anyway, like I said, my laptop hangs, and if there is a reason, my best guess is that I removed Anti-virus. I bought McAfee, and it didn't work well.

so think before you buy.
