[Suggestion] NBRPG Bio approval/decline speed

This is.not a dis and excuse the typos, im on my phone at work being an uber nerd lol.

Anyway Ive been an.NB member for quite some time.through previous accounts

And my main concern is getting my bio approved or judged in general.

Im not being selfish as im sure many other creative minded members have faced this trouble.

From what I see only one person takes care of the bio approval process, which to me is bs. Cali clearly shouldnt be doing this alone.

Ive seen bios shelved for 2 months max before being judged.
I don't see the reason why I should have to wait more then a week to begin rping.

Its very unfair and I feel like special treatment is being given to member who already have approved bios such as members who apply for clans or in show bios.

Suggestion simple

Get some help in the bio thread!

My last account i went inactive due to lack of.sensei's and abruptly i lost that account emails pw.

Alucard, Caliburn, and someone else approves them too.
But mainly Cali/Roel, Yes, i stalked him until i knew his name, and he checks around 80-100 bios in a day, so appreciate someone actually works.
It is purely the mods choice if they want to do the bios section, which is one of the hardest jobs on NB, they aren't forced to, as you want the admins to do, force mods into working on 10 different sections... There are 140.000 members on NB, ya know?...

Some bios require battle tests and don't get approved until the battle test has been passed.

Caliburn works hard everyday and tries to get the new rper bios approved as fast as possible, alucards isn't the most active but between them the bios of newer rpers will get approved as fast as they can.

Remember they are only human and caliburn is also an admin so more of his time Is now taken

Also you'll find that people who are updating their bios don't require as much attention as new bios, an updated bio is mostly new skills and just generally putting the bio up to scratch so theyet approved rather swiftly.

Your bio will get looked at as fast as possible but if you are a new rper and your bio still hasn't been approved try talking to caliburn and letting him know, he is only human and he can overlook things, simple communication can fix many problems my young friend Lol

As you've pointed out the process takes a while because there are only a few people who can approve biographies. The simple fix would be to have more people checking and approving/declining biographies. The first problem that comes to mind is who actually wants to be given that role?

When checking your biography they need to comb through the wall of text and ensure that you haven't included anything you shouldn't have or that you haven't broken RP rules. This means that those people responsible for monitoring the thread all need to be aware of what can and can't be approved. Personally I don't think I'd enjoy reading through biography after biography checking for errors, especially given how time consuming it could be.

While having more people approving/declining could be a solution, it will also require people who want to do so. As several people have pointed out, Caliburn does an amazing job as is, but how many others out there would want to be in his position?

To answer your question I applied to nexus to do it because I though the same thing about bios taking to long... There's plenty of people who would do it, the bios are just fine and if caliburn feels heart do it himself he will either make a new mod or appoint a current mod to help ease the load

The whole.point is cali is human...and i doubt hiiiighly he checks 80 to 100 a day...I wouldnt even do that and if I were an admin id check 10-20 a day. The point is he is gettin swamped with work and Ive been waiting without saying a word. Think about it....if I didnt appreciate anything I would have just went inactive like the majority of the.noobs who cant wait. But instead I made a thread addressing the fact that members Cali and the team need more help as they do have lives to live. No offense and I said this isnt a dis thread but
There's a huge line between defending someone and brown nosing...just sayin :/

Anyway, would it really be that hard for Cali to gibe a trusted member of the mod/admins to souly watch the bio thread and nothing else? Im sure someone wouldn't mind having that as theyre only job...I know as a reader I wouldnt.mind that job. Im online now at work...what you think id be doing if im not doing work? READING BIOS IN MY.SPARE TIME. Duh lol

What you don't get is these threads have been made by the millions, I can't even tell you how many threads I've readily,e this and hell I even made one and sent an application to nexus to offer my time to help Cali check the bios, if Cali needs help he will ask for it but I'm my opinion he does a top job at what he does, he has a system which works and there's no need for it to changed unless he himself feels overwhelmed and I'm sure if he was caliburn would enlist some help if it wasthatbadly needed haha

Dude....for all we know Cali dont want help cause.he wants.full contol, we dont know why he.doesnt accept help
And i.never doubted the quality of his work. He is a respected admin for his work.

furthermore the fact that people are constantly making threads about how long it takes to get a bio approved/ declined or even looked at says enough. they need help but won't accept it which is wrong. 50 percent of those created threads are made by people who pour they're heart and soul into the creativity of there biographies. the other 50 percent are obvious noobs who do nothing and expect everything .

point is is that something really should be done
as good dedicated members would like to begin RPing
within a week or so at least. when a bio goes two months without being looked at, somethings wrong.

You might want to check this post because everything is answered there. And stop complaining because you won't get anything. As long as it works, it will stay as it is. You're currently the only individual that has problems because your biography hasn't been checked. You can either: be patient and wait as every other RPer or you can quit. Nobody cares.

Caliburn isn't human. Thats a myth.
