I too dislike commenting, sometimes I just like to like a chapter and be done with. I understand people want more, but when you have a good thing going, just have faith in it, even if you're not getting the recognition you want.

I try and be funny, which I fail at, but it's who I am.

I try and act smart, and sometimes I can deliver genuine intelligence.

I try and be polite at the very least because its the way I grew up.

Why should I act any different online? What makes being anonymous so... Irresistible to lie? I just don't understand it...

I'm not telling you that you should straight up lie... but you have to understand that it is the fact of the matter; in the end, all you'll really know about said people is the alias they're using on the Forum along with their fancy avatars and signatures. Which means that there is absolutely no point in being "honest" or "genuine". Unless of course, you actually know the person or you intend to develop a true relationship by getting to know each other more through Skype and other means, and end up taking it to a whole new level, which is real life-- but that itself, is a rarity.

It's just not here; I've been reading fan fiction on Fanfiction.net for three, four years now. People always tune in and check out the first chapter. Leave a friendly comment even if they didn't exactly enjoy it. The second chapter might not hook them, and they shrug. Or they figure that they don't NEED to reply all the time!
