NB app for android and apple devices?!

this has been mentioned many times before and its not just as simple as, 'lets make a NB app' but yes, it would be pretty kool but youve got to have internet/3G to go on it, soooooo just use the internet. =)

An app is a software application that must be written in the native language of a particular platform; the two predominant platforms are Apple (iPhone) and Google (Android).

Mobile Websites

Since this is an optimized version of your existing website, it can be reached through a phone’s web browser directly and is therefore accessible by all smartphones equipped with browsing capability.

So since the mobile theme is already optimized for general smartphones. What would be the benefit of an app over a mobile theme? And would it be worth the trouble for approval for the app on iphone or droid?
