Naurto is the best mainstream anime/ manga

I hope this is in the right section first of all. If not someone please tell which would be appropriate.

But I'd like to ***** Kishimoto for creating the best mainsteam manga of our time. Now I grew up on DBZ and I love it to death. Akira definitely towed the line, but Kishi took it further. Now when it comes to the scale of destruction we all know you can't outdo DBZ. But as far as creating a good blend of action and storyline with mainstream appeal, Kishi has definitely raised the bar. Why'll DBZ was good for action and even had a good basic plot and progressive storyline, I've not come across a manga/ anime like Naruto. It provokes thought and enlightenment that relate to real life beliefs and situations. Bleach, One Piece, Fairy Tale, Shaman King, Tenchi Muyo, Gundam Wing, Kenshi, Yu yu, and the DB series were all great. But none have had the affect on my to revisit both the manga and anime so often and touch on topics and philosophy the way Naruto does and still keep that mainstream appeal.

i agree^^ kishi is a genious and so is naruto..a genious work only manga ive read so far which almost rivals it is Berserk. you should check it out^^

Its all opinion. Anyway I think the latest chapter is clouding your judgement cos it was good. I also realised that Kishi has been planning this moment after reading this chapter. I personally prefer One Piece but hey its your choice

Nice thread, personally I prefer Bleach but I respect your opinion nonetheless, Naruto comes second in my manga list plus i've been watching the anime since I was a kid (Cartoon Network days were the best).

Just hoping this thread doesn't erupt into a massive flame war between fans, we've all got different opinions, let's not try and force our favourites on others

I like the story-telling of Naruto in manga pages; though they can be short and makes me mad to wait I don't have to read a lot like in One piece with lots of annotates

I also love the fighting in the anime: Naruto vs Sasuke fight in part 1 still one of the best animated fight I have ever watched, which had an element of everything you wanna see in a fight

For symbolism, Naruto is like Batman, it has so many cool lines that symbolizes real life, especially the Itachi quotes.
