Alright, so I got two or three shapeshifters in my villain cast for this one. One becomes a giant cat, one a fox, and the other a tanuki (raccoon dog). I'd like the cat woman to have some sort of antagonistic relationship gag with one of them since they're both technically canines, but I don't know much about fox/cat relationships and I'm not so sure the raccoon dog thing works either, going with either half of the equation. Thoughts, cause I'd really like this relationship to exist in some way?

Hmm...you know, I'm not sure about the relationship between a fox and a cat. I've heard of dogs, hounds specifically, being used to hunt foxes back in the day. (The Fox and the Hound, anyone?), but I've never heard of cats and foxes really getting into it. I would assume it would be something similar to bobcats and other local wildlife messing with domesticated animals, but I don't recall anything in their natural relationship that would make them unfriendly to the other. Raccoon dog would probably be a better choice, though I'm not sure if that really is any more aggressive in nature.

I don't know much about animals. XD I would just say go with your gut on this one and do whatever feels right. It's your story, so however you write the characters oughta be fine. My personal vote is Raccoon dog is enemies with the cat, but that's probably just me.

Wait... They're shapeshifters, right?? Can't you just portray their relationship while they're in human form or at least set up the foundation there?? Or are you doing an animal story because if you are then just go with your guts. Disney do it all the time and they always get away with it - Donkey and the Dragon in Sherek for example. Try to explain that logically!! Haha. Hope that helps ;)

Well yeah, that was my plan was to just have some kind of off-the-battlefield scuffle going on between them, no real logic behind it other than that their animal forms are natural enemies. lol I just dunno if cats normally fight with foxes or raccoon dogs when they're together.

I see. Thinking twice about it, didn't even the donkey and the dragon get kids together in Sherek?? xD So yeah, do whatever you like I suppose and use that relationship in Sherek as a counter argument if anyone should so ask xP ;)

Would you drop the dragon and the donkey already!? lol

I don't wanna just go out on a whim, though, bro. There's a lot of genetics and animal science involved in this storyline and I want this relationship to be accurate if I use it. And I do have a main character whose self-aware to address parts of the plot I choose not to expand on, but he doesn't interact much with these guys off the battlefield. XD
