Natural Evolution of the Sharingan

It is stated in the manga that Madara awakened the Rinnegan after his battle with the 1st and before his death. Therefore I believe that the Rinnegan is a natural evolution of the Sharingan. I think that some people are getting confused because edo Madara has Senju cells implanted in him from Hashirama. But that was done after he was dead (by Kabuto) and was ultimately applied to his edo tensei form. This seems to make sense to me.
As for how Negato received/awakened his rinnegan that seems to be a product of tobi/madara's doing. If he awakened it by himself naturally that would obviously put a kink in my theory. If that is the case then there would be evidence to support both Uchiha and Senju being able to naturally access rinnegan. Since this is currently unknown exactly how he achieved rinnegan I'm sticking with my theory. Either way, we know that Rinnegan is a natural evolution of the sharingan. For that matter it makes you wonder how the byakugan is related to the sharigan? Does the byakugan user evolve to a sharingan? It's strange how Kishi has largely left the Byakugan out!

People have been wrong about this (Kishi included) ever since that was stated. Just by how it played out and was described, the Sharingan is the evolution of the Rinnegan. People seem to assume that because the Rinnegan is better it must be the evolution; No no no. The evolution of something isn't necessarily better than its predecessor. Think about all the mutations that happen in our world: disfigurations and the like. Those are adaptations, evolution if you will, but most them are quite bad and worse than what the previous generation had.

Also, the method that it appears Madara used to get the EMS to change into the Sharingan WASN'T natural. Integrating the genes of another individual into your genetic structure isn't natural by any means. And read my previous post please. o3o

Although it was stated in one of the recent chapters that the Rinnegan is the evolution of the Sharingan, I feel like it still has to be taken with a grain of salt. I feel like there is some huge piece we are all missing about all this eye stuff, and I also think it plays a more significant role in the series than most people realize. I feel like when it is said that it is an evolution of the Sharingan, what that really means is that only someone who can attain a Sharingan can also get the Rinnegan. Not that anyone who has a Sharingan will eventually get the Rinnegan. Although when the abilities of both eyes are compared, they do completely different things. It seems as if rather than the Rinnegan being the progression of the Sharingan, or more specifically EMS, it is sort of like... A sister/brother eye.

Proof of this is that if the Rinnegan was purely the evolution, then why would Tobi only implant one Rinnegan? The powers of the two are different. We don't even know what the physical ocular powers of the Rinnegan are (seeing chakra, detecting fast movements, predicting fast movements, etc.)

I realize I could be wrong about this, but from what was said in the manga through a conversation between the newly revived edo Madara and the Kabuto controlled Muu, I believe my theory makes sense. Like I said if Negato awakened it naturally, then there would be ample evidence to support that both Senju and Uchiha have access to it naturally.
By the way not trying to spam just saw many people saying you had to have both Senju and Uchiha dna, and I wanted to try and shed some light on the fact that Madara obtained it with only Uchiha dna!

The Rinnegan was shown to allow the wielder to see chakra like the other two known Dojutsu. In one case, it allowed the Deva Path to see the chakra barrier surrounding Konoha and in another, the chakra gathered at the feet of Tsunade and the present ANBU. My first post in this thread shows why the Rinnegan isn't the evolution just by definition.
I believe Tobi only added one Rinnegan because having the Sharingan allows him to prepare for pretty much any situation he didn't foresee: Izanagi.

First of all, I see what u mean about evolution. And yes I agree from a standard view of evolution this is not true. But we're talking about a manga not actual biology. And to Grafinator I liked what u wrote about someone needing the genetic traits for developing sharingan to awaken Rinnegan, but not being a pure evolution. I also liked how u said that these two eyes were more akin to being brother eyes. That made a lot of sense to me. Because they are obviously related, but not necessarily evolved like child to adult (in terms of power) since they are simply not the same doujutsu! The same could be said of the byakugan as well related but not just evolutionary stepping stones. I guess we'll have to wait for Kishi to make the requirements for obtaining rinnegan more clear!!!
