Natural energy and Sage mode

Why is it that there are different sage modes forms and such?

Naruto turns froglike as does minato and jiraiya people will obviously say this is because they learnt from the toads..

Kabuto turns dragon/snake like..

Hashirama.. well... i have no idea what hashirama's is :|

my point is that they all use the same natural energy.. how is it that they take different forms.. sage mode is just about learning how to take in natural energy and then balancing it..

so since everyone is taking in the same natural energy surely everyone should take the same looking form..

its the same with jugo.. he naturally takes in natural energy however turns into a monster looking thing.. he doesnt even turn into a type of animal :|

if someone could shed some like on this for me ide very much appreciate it.. it just never made much sense to me i just sort of excepted it :|

I believe it's that there are different auras in the air, different sources to tap positive/negative (Toad mode being positive, Snake being negative) or raw/synthetic (Juugo's being raw, Wood mode being synthetic) chakra from.

It's a baseless personal thought, but that's what I think. It would explain the bad vibes from snake mode, and the heroic users of toad Sage mode. Hard to put wood mode in a box though, it's probably reserved for legends since only Madara and Hashirama use it.

Uh... That's a good question Lol I would say it's because people get summoning contracts but the problem with that is Hashi has no summoning thus far and that still doesn't change the natural energy in the air.

i thought about this at first.. that there could be different natural energies within the air.. but if thats the case it would have been explained back when sage mode was introduced.. natural energy is always refered to as a whole specific energies arent ever pointed out

Maybe it has to do with the training of absorbing Natural energy. For Naruto (and by extension Jiraiya and Minato) they needed the oil from the sacred mountain as a catalyst to help their bodies to learn to take in Nature Chaka.

some similar catalyst may have been used in the case of Kabuto's Sage Training. Hashirama's is a mystery in this respect because we know little to nothing a out his sage mode, other than his markings are not that of an animal but more tribal looking. (Human Sage Mode? Or wood sage mode?)

First off, do you have any idea how kabuto and hashirama gather their sage chakra? we all assume that it is the same way as the toad sage, but maybe by learning a different method to connect to nature than standing still allows you to take on different forms.

the only other way to gather it without being completely still is to be from juugo's clan who naturally take it in..

the toads even said its absolutely impossible to take in natural energy without remaining still.. i see what you mean though but i just dont think its likely

but it does. Remember too much of the stuff and you start to turn into a frog then stone. Maybe upon application it becomes a permanent effect. Your body takes on the characteristics of the animal you underwent training from when the catalyst was 1st applied.Kind of like muscle memory if you will. Maybe the reason Hashirama doesn't resemble an animal is because maybe he in fact did learn from a particular animal but mastered it to the point where no animal features show.

its not the oil that does that.. its natural energy itself when it cannot be controlled which is why the elder frog (pa) used the stick to beat the natural energy out of him as he began to transform

Well it could also be based on their chakra specialization. Or maybe just based on who taught them how to use sage mode. Sages are often great creatures/spirits that were formed ages ago along with the juubi.

i think its just where you learn to control your sage energy. you learn in a frog place you learn toad sage.

for juugo i guess thats his body's way of adjusting to the natural energy
