Nah I haven't, Sydd is correct on that.Alrighty. Any of you had Kenjutsu before?
Honestly? I don't mind, either one is fine for me. But I have to think of Sydd and how active he will be, he said he is free till the end of month. But if I had to say which one more; technical freeform for me.1) (Ken Rendan no Jutsu) - Sword Barrage Technique

Now; look at these techniques.
This is everything non-Cloud members (which is retarded, if you ask me) can learn.
Now if there's one thing I can't stand, it's people who speak bull. So tell me honestly; do you want to learn some technical freeform, or should we stick to simply going through these canon techniques?
You can always 'master' Kenjutsu later. Trust me when I say that I know the feeling of simply wanting to be over and done with something.
In either case; what's your opinion of these canon techniques?
Don't worry about that. Training with me won't be 'use technique X', it'll be more, eh, philosophical.Honestly? I don't mind, either one is fine for me. But I have to think of Sydd and how active he will be, he said he is free till the end of month. But if I had to say which one more; technical freeform for me.
The canon techs, seem simple enough and would be useful if you're in a pickle or so to speak.
I'd probably only use them when I'm using myDon't worry about that. Training with me won't be 'use technique X', it'll be more, eh, philosophical.
That sounds wannabe-ish, but meh.
@ bold - Do you really think so?
When would you use these techniques? Think an actual NB battle.
Alright. How often have you found yourself in short-range where a C or B-ranked Kenjutsu technique would be the only thing that could save your life?I'd probably only use them when I'm using myYou must be registered for see links.
Or use the techniques when in close range of the target and use them with a combo, i.e using a kenjutsu tech and using a elemental tech.
Shouldn't we wait for Sydd to reply before we get too into this?Alright. How often have you found yourself in short-range where a C or B-ranked Kenjutsu technique would be the only thing that could save your life?

Do you want me to brutally honest? I don't think ever to 'save' my life but a B-rank Kenjutsu technique would be enough to counter a weak-ish taijutsu move. Or use; (Suraisu Shinku no Nami) - Slicing Crimson Wave to push your target back a fair distance, so you can re-think your moves and whatnot.
Here's a thing: I'll reply when I can and want, and you guys will do the same. Due to the small amount of actual techniques; I won't be 'structuring' my Kenjutsu threads as much as I will my other threads. That means you guys get to ask all the questions you want, and try as many of the techniques you want. You discuss strategies, advantages, disadvantages and techniques with each other and use me in whatever way you wish. You want instructions in forms? Say so; we'll do it. Anything else? Go for it.I want to go for technical freeform, I am in no hurry to master Kenjutsu.
Opinion...well for one I am disappointed that there are no A-ranks -_______- However, the moves seem to be strong and probably something I'll end up using at least once in a battle..
Okay understood, I won't bother you with vms. Cause I hate that when my students do that shit. Here's a thing: I'll reply when I can and want, and you guys will do the same. You graduate when you feel like it.
And yes, Nathan, that's exactly my point. Canon Kenjutsu won't save your life unless you're fighting a Tai/Ken-only match. If you successfully integrate Canon kenjutsu into your everyday-tactics; then much respect to you.
If not; well...
(Suraisu Shinku no Nami) - Slicing Crimson Wave
Nice of you to mention it. Why is that exact technique so damn useful? Can you think of alternative ways to use this, perhaps even without walking around with a clumsy sword taking up one of your two very precious hands.
And really, Sydd? If so; I'm already impressed.
Wanna try?

NB Kenjutsu was Izuna Uchiha's pet-project. It was incorprated some time ago, but taken down after a while for reasons unknown to me. With NB Genjutsu having surfaced; I can't wait for it to come back.Okay understood, I won't bother you with vms. Cause I hate that when my students do that shit.
One question; wasn't there such a thing back in the day called NB Kenjutsu? I saw it somewhere, I think on Faust's bio. Do you know what happened to it or whatnot?
I will say; I do like your training method. ^^
(Suraisu Shinku no Nami) - Slicing Crimson Wave seems like one of those techniques that can be used for all type of reasons; able to block, using as an attack. Could you create the crimson wave using something like a tanto or a kunai?
Sorry Kenjutsu is not my forte, hence it's taking me so long to learn it.
Kenjutsu is theoretically brilliant and has almost infinite potential. Where Taijutsu puts you in Nagashi-range of the opponent, Kenjutsu allows you to maintain at least some distance and still, if you can connect properly, deliver one-hit kill-shots. Remember; it doesn't matter if I cut your arm off with a freeform attack or an S-ranked technique. The result is the same in the end.I am fine with it.
And yes, I kinda like anything related to swords..or so I think..hm..also I don't really have anything strong in my arsenal except Ninjutsu; so that can be looked on as another reason(but even if I had mastered all the basic 5 and Nin/Gen/Tai; I still feel I'd give Kenjutsu priority).
I do.
Okay thank you for that. I think it will only come back if Izuna makes his return to the Base.NB Kenjutsu was Izuna Uchiha's pet-project. It was incorprated some time ago, but taken down after a while for reasons unknown to me. With NB Genjutsu having surfaced; I can't wait for it to come back.
But I doubt it ever will =/
A kunai might be stretching it, but generally yes. A shortsword is as much of a sword as any other sword. Slicing Crimson Wave is nice because when you get close to an opponent; you need fast attacks. SCW is a fast attack.
Now; can you think of a way to use one/several of these technique(s) to dodge Ninjutsu? Explain why, or why not.
Wind techniques are the most obvious, you can easily get more than five techniques of those I guess.NB Kenjutsu was Izuna Uchiha's pet-project. I'd like to help you incorporate Kenjutsu into your style. Try to give the jutsulist a look and find me some Ninjutsu (elemental or otherwise) techniques that can be used in combination with a Kenjutu-technique/Kenjutsu freeform.
When you've found some; post them here and we'll discuss their potential. Don't be shy; post more than two or three![]()
While it's very hard to do with most of the canon Kenjutsu techniques, a technique that involves movement can be used to dodge incoming attacks. Don't be overconfident though; you're not the Flash. Not being the Flash means that you'll have to limit yourself to dodging 'small' techniques.Okay thank you for that. I think it will only come back if Izuna makes his return to the Base.
General ninjutsu or elemental ninjutsu?
If you're referring to general nin. Some kenjutsu techniques should be able to 'dodge' or counter some ninjutsu techniques. SCW would slice and blow away fog based techs, while the swift and fast jabbing based ken techs should have enough power to remove shadow clones from play.
I don't belive any of the canon kenjutsu techs, that I am able to learn would have a chance against offensive based techniques A-rank or higher, and/or depending on the size of the attack also; (Oodama Rasengan) - Big Ball Spiral Sphere or something along those lines.
I don't think it'd be considered Kenjutsu, no.Wind techniques are the most obvious, you can easily get more than five techniques of those I guess.
There's this Katon tech
But it really isn't much. I tried looking for a move which would allow to let the tanto on fire, seems there is none.( Katon: Hinotama no Mai ) - Fire Release: Fireball Dance
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user will attack the opponent with a series of slashes with their sword and then finish up with jumping into the air above the target and releasing a powerful fireball down upon them
Note: Requires a Sword.
If I try and pass fire chakra into my tanto, would that be considered a valid technique? I guess not, things like these must require custom weapons..
Also, there's the passing of lightning through the sword, but that was already in your list.
~Nothing for Earth; I don't see how that can collaborate with a sword.
Water, I am not sure would be too effective.
I could use techniquesw to replicate my sword, I am not sure that could be considered Kenjutsu.
