hmmm I don't know what to say. there are good points in both sides. it's true this manga is about ninjas and fights and bla bla, BUT come on this is TOO long already... and this is all about revenge, fight, death, revenge, fight, death, crying, revenge, fight, death... boring to tell the truth. also this "I'll save you" "I don't want to be saved" bla bla bullshit which goes through the serie is annoying.

it's ok if a manga/anime doesn't have any romance and emitons UNTIL if that manga is short. by short I mean maximum about 50 episodes. but for a long story like Naruto it's just too boring to be without relationships. I read some people said it's not needed because this show is about ninjas. but I have a question then where the children come from? from the factory? or what?

so in short, for a good long story it's necessary to contain every kind of feelings, not just hate and stuff. if it's well balanced it's just make the show even better. unfortunately this part 2 as I said before is only about hate, hate, hate, hate, fight, fight, fight, fight. and little positive emotions like love. if it would contains a bit more love it would satisfy every kind of fans.

It really would be nice to throw in some love every once in a while, but it just isnt happening, and i've seen several people agree so far. And its not that hard, idk get Naruto and Hinata to kiss or something, that would be quite satisfactory.

The manga has gotten stale and predictable at this point.

Romance either way, or no romance, would probably be equally predictable.

I liked Sakura and Hinata both as potential love interests for Naruto, but Kishimoto didn't expand at all on the romance with Hinata, and seems to enjoy using Sakura as a character that can be pointed at as "Well, at least ___ isn't HER!"

Both characters and situations... and all of the sub-characters, really... have been left underdeveloped, lackluster, and uninteresting.

Hinata's love for Naruto is undeniable, but Naruto hasn't really shown much overt interest in her romantically. Yes, he raged enough to do some serious murdering upon her "death" but this is Naruto. He would do that for any of his friends.

Sakura has shown in her own thoughts, however subtly, that feelings for Naruto exist and Yamato (also Kakashi I believe) seems to recognize what she truly feels. However, she can't get over Sasuke and it seems like such a shallow trait for her to have that a romance with Naruto hardly seems feasible.

Romance? IN MY NARUTO?

Meh, I actually don't give a shit. As long as it doesn't get the main focus and stays in the background, you batshit insane fangirls can have your NaruHina or NaruSaku or SasuSaku or whatever the f*ck is popular these days.
Screw Romance I want to see battles.
screw the romance its all about the badass ass kicking ^_^
No romance.......MORE KILLING..sheesh
What's wrong with both? :/ It's already been done in Naruto, so it's not like it would be weird..

Naruto/Hinata VS Neji were both pretty good fights. Both fights were partly driven by Naruto & Hinata's new friendship/supporting each other. Neji was able to have character development, and for the first time, Naruto got the village to notice him.

Hinata VS Pain was also driven by romance. That event triggered 6-Tails Mode. Which then became 8 Tails Mode. Which then brought Minato into the spotlight. Meeting him was important to Naruto's character, and the overall plot. Naruto's rage was stopped, he found out about Madara and the Ninetails, and he finally met his dad. All of that because of romance ;)

So twice now, the NaruHina has had a part in very important plot-points. Even SasuSaku is important to Sakura's character growth..

So it's fully possible to have both main-plot/action and romance at the same time :lili: It's already happened :p

If Naruto becomes all about the romances, I will seriously lose interest. I don't really care about the relationships, as long as they get with the right ones in the end. I just like the action and fighting. :3

Well if it did happen ( more love) it would bring other fans into the series but lose more dire hard fans but I do agree a bit with LilyRose. Add a lil romance within all the awesome action, but not Steer away from the point wear it's overwhelming the fights, the action, and the main basic plot of it. That's just my opinion. -_- Btw I'm a guy, just saying, and no I'm not gay or bye, no offence towards those who are.

I think some romance would be a good idea, Fighting is awesome don't get me wrong, but it needs a little something to make Naruto kind of new again you know?

i thought matsuri didn't exist , i thought she was part of the filler
, if i'm wrong that's because i used to not read the manga
anyway you forgot about asuma and that hot sensei
and shikimaru and tamari
and minato and kushina
and jiraiya and tsunade
and zetsu and madara xd
Asuma got Kurenai prego didnt he?
Go asuma!

and Shikamaru and Temari i could see together
Minato was married to K
Jiraiya really just had a physical attraction on Tsunade while she never cared for him as more than a friend
And Zetsu and Madara? oh yeah dude, that makes perfect sense now theyre always behind the scenes in some dark area, who knows what theyre doing

i agree, i lovee the nonstop fighting and kickass kicking of asses, but it is true that naruto has gotten a little stale and predictable, an element of romance KEPT ON THE SIDE would definitely help the plot, an issue that would arise from this change would be the severe under-development of the characters, romance this late in the series would be akwardly introduced

Aaaaaand... you couldn't be more wrong.

First case, as you said, that was because of friendship, not romance.

The second, yeah, but it still seems incredibly one-sided to me. Naruto hasn't shown any romantic interest in Hinata at all, so I don't know if I can even call it romance. It's more one-sided love, and it's been on screen for like, what, two minutes? You know why Naruto didn't acknowledge/answer Hinata's feelings afterwards? Because romance is NOT a main focus nor is it shown NEARLY as much as action/plot. If it was, don't you think we would've AT LEAST seen a scene where Naruto and Hinata have a one-on-one-talk? But we don't. Why? BECAUSE NARUTO ISN'T ABOUT ROMANCE.

Having said that, I'll tell you what the show is really about. It's mostly about Naruto and Sasuke, their relationship and rivalry and battles have always been in the spotlight, not romance. Sure, it was important for Sakura, but let's be honest, most fans probably don't give a shit whether she gets character growth or not. And ONE character's growth does not equal an entire plot.

And that's how it should be. I don't care who Naruto's in love with, I don't give a crap about Sakura's feelings for Sasuke either, as long as Kishi keeps the main focus on Naruto and Sasuke's relationship (however gay it may seem, it's still not romance, lol) I've got no problem with a bit of NaruHina on the side.
dude were not saying they should quit fighting and all but show something romantic even a lil more like 90% fighting/ninja stuff and 10% romance

But that doesn't mean that it can't have it's fair share of focus. That was my point.

The romance has had a decent level of focus and growth, while still holding plot-relevance so it doesn't get in the way of anything. There have been no private lovey-dovey type romance scenes that derail the main plot-line. All of the romance moments in Naruto have taken place during an important, or relatively action filled part of the story.

Again, the NaruHina friendship was developed during the Chunin Exams, and the love that grew because of it(in Hinata at least) was brought forth in Pain's Invasion. Both times it helped the main plot move forward, there was plot-relevant action involved(VS Neji, VS Pain), and both chracters gained something from it.

I know it's not a romance focus story. But Kishimoto has proven in his writing that is can be important to the plot, without shoving it down our throats.

Agreed hydro, without a touch of romance, most stories would be dull. Whether it be through a scandal, or a satisfying end, romance adds spice to most stories.
