Naruto's surname...

Naruto's surname was Uzumaki because they don't want people to know he's the hokages son for safety measures....

If this was true...then why the whole hidden leaf village hated him at first? They all knew that he is 4th kid and got Kurama inside of him....

He was always treated as the fox brat and not as the 4th Hokage son. It works well for me..

The reason was so that enemies wouldn't come after him and i would say that the enemy was the masked man that invaded the village.

There's difference between a clan and a surname.

In japan mostly clans are used, in the western world mostly surnames are used but there are exceptions, like the Khardashian Clan, Bush Clan, Clinton Clan etc

I come from a place where both are used. I have a surname and a clan name, both are different.
By my culture a surname is something insignificant. but a clan name controls your identify

The hidden leaf village was greatly weakened by the death of the 4th hokage. That spelled countless opportunities to attack the village again. Unless 6 yr old Itachi planned to solo!

so what happens when two people from the same clan share the same name?

I don't think people knew that, actually. Probably shinobi like Kakashi/Hiruzen/Jiraiya and so forth.

Because all they know was that Minato and his family died when Kurama was released. Sure they knew that Kushina was Kurama's jin but the fact that Kurama went on a rampage and the people knew that Minato and fam died, they assumed that this other Uzumaki was just another vessel for the Demon Fox. Much like Kushina before and Mito.

You know how problematic that is if they ever find out that Naruto is Minato's child? People who's after power would go after him and not just because he's a jin too.
