Naruto lacks Yin Release but he possesses both Yang and Yin-Yang Release..

How is that a misunderstanding? If he have yang release and no yin how do he have yin-yang release? You need to have both yin and yang to make yin yang release i'm pretty sure.

Actually the DB said he showed a perfect use of yin-yang release by fixing kakashi's eye. Still, either way. Naruto never used that ability ever again. Thus it's "forgotten" or shelved, if that makes sense to you.

Well it was from the yang seal he had so it makes sense why he never used it again. But if the DB said that then why did they list him as a yang user only.

Well looking back on it, the DB could be wrong somewhat since Itachi is a yin-yang user...But he also have 3 elements and we've only seen him use water and fire that I know of.

Yeah, they give people elements they never used. Like hinata is listed as a lightning user and has like another one or two more elements.
