I've got several ways to tackle that you know, cos I've done it over and over again, cos you're kinda super late. However, I'll go with this:- "And how is that Selfish?"

Yes, saving someone from dying is totally selfish.

In all seriousness, I would've done the same thing if I were Naruto. I just don't think Kishimoto should have given him that ability to begin with.

How is saving someone selfish?

Though i gotta say, it can be considered torture to keeping someone alive at that state, but Naruto is not someone who would let a comrade die.

Just wait and see what happens. Only 3 pages revealed from next chapter.

1. Nothing has been confirmed yet, wait a few more days until the chapter comes out, before jumping to assumptions.

2. Naruto's answer to Sage's question was that he'd always do everything to protect those who are dear to him. He's doing that right now and no matter how much you and I might want Gai to die, if Naruto does really have the power to save him, he'll do so and whining about it will have no value at all.

Woah! Saving someone from dying is kinda selfish? It seems you've become too influenced by the Narutoverse. Come on bro, get those tinted glasses off and take a look at it Factually and realistically..

Gai's body is disintegrating. Its painful but Gai chose this death. The comes naruto to make him suffer more. Forget selfishness, naruto is a torturoer

I don't agree that Naruto saving Gai from death is selfish, however, I do understand OP's point.

I watched a movie recently called "He Was A Quiet Man". In this movie a man goes postal at work, shooting five people. One victim, a female, was shot in the spine and survived. Before the assailant could deliver the finishing blow another man in the office killed him, saving the life of this woman.

She became a quadriplegic and wished that she hadn't been saved because now she can't do anything. In that light I can understand what OP is saying.

Did he just revive Gai?

Who used the 8th gate and is meant to die, his body is disintegrating, and Naruto is just like

"sup bro, i'll save you and become Hokage" Poor Gai, imagine his pain!
No you are the selfish one wanting someones death for your own personal entertainment, now that is sick.

well, i get where ya' coming from OP. only if gai isn't returned to himself will it be selfish tho. if he gets his foot back, his injuries all heal and he can be a ninja again, its fine.

however, if he doesn't, becomes disabled and just has to watch from the sidelines like an old man when he's all about youth and being active, its pretty cruel because he had already resolved to die, and naruto went and made the decision for him to live (and potentially suffer) without his consent. that's pretty selfish because naruto only looked at it from how it'd make him feel and he just didn't want a friend to die, but when that friend wants to die, its way different.

To the people who asked why it's selfish,Gai was expecting to die.In fact he pretty much wanted to sacrifice himself for his ninja way and comrrades,so it's selfish because for now Naruto denied him a honorable death.
