Naruto's Mentor

Could Itachi have been Naruto's mentor if none of the Uchiha massacre and Nine tails attack stuff happened. And by mentor I dnt mean teach him jutsu and stuff. But i mean strategic stuff. Like teach him how to lead a squad and how to stay compose and analyze your opponents in battle....thoughts?

Possibly. Naruto's mentor could be Itachi because Itachi was a great ninja and could train the nine tails.
