naruto's last name

I was wondering usually people get there last name from their father side of family.so how did naruto end up with the name uzumaki?Minato's last name is namikaze.I was wondering if it is because most of his blood tairts are from the uzumaki clan why they named him that.and have you ever noticed out of all kurama's jinjuriki they are all uzumaki but only naruto have the markings on his face.I think naruto is special.

Naruto was basicaly born with the Kyuubi inside him thats why he has wiskers and hes named after his mother so that Minatos enemies couldnt find him.

He got the name Uzumaki since Hiruzen thought it would be better than Namikaze so Mnatos enemies couldnt find Naruto and capture him.
As for the whiskers they have not been explained yet.

To me this doesn't sound that right to be honest... There aren't that many Uzumakis nowadays... and the same 16years ago...

Minato's enemies knew he was married to an Uzumaki...

naruto has whiskers because on his face because kushina was the previous jinchuuriki for kurama, so when she was pregnant with naruto kuramas chakra effected him in the womb. naruto was given his mothers last name because if he was given minatos last name then he would have been targeted
