yeah sure that was kinda smart I guess considering Jiraiya's Toad Pa told him everything regarding that ahead of time.
Actually you forgot a few people there.
He fought smart against Pain, using Shadow clones and if it wasn't for Deva regaining it's powers he would have defeated all 3 remaining paths in one combination attack.
He also battled intelligently against the Edo Kages...with Muu he used his chakra arm to surprise him no one was expecting it and with the 3rd Raikage he actually assessed the situation as while everyone was thinking the 3rd Raikage was unbeatable Naruto was the only one wondering how he got that scar on him and tried to formulate a plan. Say what you want that's actually pretty smart especially considering that someone like Temari was also there and she couldn't think of a strategy to beat him.
When fighting Son Goku (Bijuu) he used the shadow clone to make the Bijuu throw up and he even formatted a strategy by knocking the rod out of the Bijuu.
Naruto may not be the smartest person...but when it comes to battles he's a tactical genius as his plans are that unpredictable.
ok I considered him fighting Pein pretty smart I suppose.. -__- but when It comes to him vs Raikage and Temari..
Temari obviously would have been destroyed by the Edo Kage so she was worried and scared while Naruto has ALL THIS SUPERIOR CHAKRA and MANY CLONES he doesn't get scared and nervous like a regular shinobi would ..
Even shikamaru was nervous in WAR , but quickly regained his composure to encourage his allies & teammates.
Naruto being who is is with his power, has a lot more time on his hands. although shikamaru & temari can stand back and analyze things. Naruto can afford Taking Damage .. THEY CANT.
He is goofy most of the times but when things get serious, he is a smart, very smart.

Nah Sasuke doesn't have anything anymore in the "general intelligence" department.
Storming into the kage summit, unsealing the hokages and giving Oro full control (worked out fine but oh god was that questionable) and last week just rolling up to Obito when Naruto told him to back the hell away.
You ask me, both those ninja show pretty piss poor overall intelligence. But Naruto's battle intelligence (though not on par with Sasuke) is steadily getting much better. He's more aware of his surroundings and focusing on minute details other people look over.
Sasuke charging into the summit has nothing to do with his intelligence.. he was simply MAD & wanted to kill somebody.
he was emotional. When it came down to fighting his TARGET , Danzo.. He was VERY SMART.
ORO's revival.. SASUKE was called Dr. SNAKES by a fellow genius . plus Sasuke did extensive research on Orochimaru during his time with him and while contemplating overthrowing him. He noticed in the battle with Kabuto DSM & Itachi that Kabuto was almost a victim of Orochimaru's DNA and knew Orochimaru's DNA was incredible. It takes a toll.
Itachi & kabuto proved it and used it against Kabuto. Sasuke regained his genius senses when he said his final goodbye to Itachi and decided to meet the Dead Hokage.
