come on guys i can't believe you would say naruto did not learn anything during his time with jiraiya i mean take a look how he used to just ump into fight without thinking, and most of all he learn the most valuable thinka ninja can learn and that is chakra control, sefl composure,it is b/c of his time with jiraiya that he is able to handle such hugomous amount of chakra from kurama. i mean even katsuyu said how can he control such huge chakra and do loose him self.

He was the most idiotic one pre-TS, everyone was at least good with the basics but Naruto was poor there too...
So, Jiraiya perfected Naruto's basics...

Kakashi said in the bell test that Naruto has become more adept with his given skills... That's his progress!

as jiraya told him the purpose of the training was to control kurama's chakra,before starting to learn a new jutsu,and he was trying to do that,but was doing it the wrong way.
he was trying to take kurama's chakra for each time he wanted to use it he had to fight kurama's will who did not want to let go of his chakra,while the right way is to was the way he did it in the turtle island:beat the crap out of kurama,take his chakra,seal it away seperately from him.
he lost much of time in doing that,and reduced even his life span,but that made his body accustomed to kurama's chakra much more.
which what made him use kurama's chakra much easier once he got it and kurama no longer resisting him.

1. Jirya experimented on Naruto's Seal and let him progress to four tails durring his training.
2. I never heard anyone else could suppress a sentient and monstrous chakra beast inside them which was continuously trying to dig its way out... with only chakra control. Chakra control refers to controlling his own chakra not another beast trying to dig its way out....
3. Naruto's seal actually grows weaker.
4. Naruto actually went two tails after Garra's death.

If you overlook all his emotional break downs when the nine tails uses this time to gain control over him you will see the progress he has made....... from the timing of his jutsu to the amount of chakra he uses for his jutsu before he would just use chakra without thinking of the amount.......his taijutsu has improve that he can hold his own against kakashi with is sharingan activated, at first naruto biggest weakness was genjutsu as he would fall for the most obvious ones now he is able to dispel them,,,,,,so when your looking at his growth you need to compare the first naruto and now
