At one point he says he won't die when using Rasengan on Kabuto.

Then says he will die with Sasuke from their confrontation when Sakura didn't want to kill Sasuke.

Pretty confusing.

Sasuke was his bae.

Naruto put Sasuke above everything else, so it wouldn't matter to him if he died by his hand. He wouldn't have any other goals if he couldn't save Sasuke.

It's just his own arrogance talking there.

Naruto and arrogance are two different words dude :|

after becoming hokage Naruto didn't even scold his fellow konoha villagers who made fun of him and who hated him for no reason.

Yeah that's pretty dumb that he would be okay with killing himself to stop Sasuke.

Him proclaiming that he won't die until he becomes hokage is an example of arrogance :|. Another example is him telling obito that as long he is still here the world won't end :|.

Look again, is that not arrogance right there? Just because he succeeded doesn't mean he wasn't arrogant.

I can agree with this.

Or maybe you're trying too hard to connect everything just because they connect to death.

The point was that Naruto says he will never die until he becomes Hokage but then he will die without hesitation when it involves Sasuke. It's inconsistent for the main character to contradict his goal in life just because it's Barbeque Sauce K

Only this was all before Naruto had any thoughts about his conflict with Sasuke. At that time, Naruto also believed that he could somehow save Sasuke when he didn't a thing about him. You can't make a comparison considering the changes they both went through between these events.

Plus, he tries to keep his promise. Naruto went to get more power if he wanted to beat Sasuke.

there's also the number of times where he said never giving up was his ninja way, then he basically throws in the towel twice in a month's time.

The statements don't contradict each other.

What you overlooked was what Naruto told Sasuke during their encounter at Orochimaru's hideout, which happened between the two statements you are comparing.

Naruto thought Sasuke had to be "saved", or he (Naruto) wasn't worthy of becoming Hokage. So it makes sense that Naruto would later say he would either save Sauke or die trying.

The relative importance of each of those goals is also clear by how Kishi handled both in the manga.

The final conflict and resolution with Sasuke received 5 chapters. The ending scene of them making the reconciliation sign was envisioned by Kishi in 2006 (from his interview at Comic-con.).

Naruto becoming Hokage was done as a post-Gaiden one-shot with a comedy plot twist. He never even attended his own ceremony.
This disappointed a lot of fans, but it also proves that the Hokage title itself wasn't a big deal. It's Naruto's desire and ability to protect everyone (even from themselves as in Sasuke's case) that matters.

Fighting against Kabuto is different than fighting against Sasuke.

He felt Sasuke have a potential to kill him in battle.

What kind of question is this? Naruto didn't even know anything about Kabuto, as far as he was concerned Kabuto was as rotten as all the other Orochimaru lap dogs. Sasuke was his friend. He could empathize with him and made a promise that he would save him.

no no no. he is confident. If he was being arrogant, it would be like, "Im going to be hokage, and there is nothing you can do about it because I am Naruto."
