So I posted it over in the Discussion section but that place is way too active for theory threads to stay intact because of all that trolling. So amma try my luck here.

I've talked about this several times but no one has actually responded to it. I guess I'll make the theory, tell me what you think.

Bolt + Himawari Uzumaki

Okay so in the history of Naruto most Doujutsu clan's paired up with other native members who bare the same traits as them, so for a clearer picture. An Uchiha male mates with an Uchiha female = Produces child A

Going to explain why that is:
An individual gene (Sharingan for instance) may code for a specific physical trait, that gene can exist in different forms, or alleles (An allele is one or two more alternative forms of a gene that arise by mutations and are found at the same place on a chromosome.)

To simplify this: The Sharingan trait in the father and the Sharingan trait in the mother are bound in the body (chromosome) giving the child a greater chance at receiving the "gene".

Now onto the human offspring:
For most of our genome we receive half of our genes from our father and half from our mother. Each half represents a shuffled combination of DNA passed down to us from our ancestors. This recombination process makes it difficult to study lines of descent because it creates a genetic mix of everyone who has come before.

Fortunately, there are parts of the genome that are passed down unshuffled from parent to child. In these segments the genetic code is varied only through occasional mutations—random spelling mistakes in the long sequence of letters that make up our DNA.

When these mutations are passed down through the generations they become markers of descent.

Okay read this before we get to the ice breaker:
The whole human family (or in this case, shinobi) are one species with the same genes. MUTATIONS creates slightly different versions of the same genes, called alleles. These small difference in DNA sequence make every individual unique. They account for the varaiton we see in human hair, clor, skin color, height, shape, behavior, and disease. Individuals in other species vary too, in both physical appearance and behavior.

More:
Some genetic changes, occur randomly within a population and are passed from parent to offspring. The effect of this “genetic drift” varies with population size (Uzumaki). Smaller populations are subject to much greater genetic drift for the same reason that a result of seven “heads” in ten coin flips is much more likely than 700,000 “heads” in one million coin flips. The effects of genetic drift in a small population can be quite dramatic. Random genetic changes in those individuals whose descendents survive can then be repeated in the ever growing numbers of successive generations.

Now onto the next step of this theory.

The Uzumaki which has a smaller population are subjugated to the genetic drift beacuse the numbers that exist. Naruto for instance was dominated by his father's gene (Minato - Namikaze) on the outside but on the inside had more Uzumaki traits (Such as chakra pools and overall strong body). Do you know why this happened? It's because the chrosome that held the Uzumaki traits had to rely on the genetic drift and change the overall population of Uzumaki offspring, so that they can mate with other clan members/non-clan members and possibly produce children of the same caliber without carrying common Uzumaki traits: Such as red hair.

More important information (MUST READ)
Okay, so for Bolt and Himawari they're gene pool can be traced down into three different families: Uzumaki, Namikaze, and the Hyuuga. Some can/may argue that their linage can be traced down into the Ōtsutsuki because of the Senju (Hagoromo) being distant relatives of the Uzumaki, and the Hyuuga being birthed by Hamura, who received it from his mother, Kaguya.

Now Hagoromo had the Rinnegan - Which was broken down into two different forms: The reason for this may be because Hagoromo's wife or female counterpart did not contain the Rinnegan gene(s) therefore, it needed to mutate.

Hence why the power of the Rinnegan went into one Son in the form of eyes (Powerful Doujtsu) and the phyiscal attributes fell into the other (Strong Body).

Truth:
Kaguya: Was obviously born with the Byakugan, making it the first dōjutsu in the world. You can obviously conclude that Kaguya came from or originated from people who had this trait. Now Kaguya also had the Sharinnegan, meaning that Hagoromo's purple Rinnegan eye comes from the mixture of the Sharinngan and the Byakugan gene's mating thanks to our good friend Shinju. Which makes sense because the Byakugan + Sharinngan > Rinnegan > Sharingan (Some used to say the Sharingan originated from the Byakugan..)

Hamura: The reason why the Byakugan didn't mutate over the years was because Hamura's wife (let's just say wife for now) carried the Byakugan trait: Meaning he married in the clan, like most Hyuuga clan members do)

End (Finalization)
Usually genetic traits mutate over the years but in the Naruto-verse as we've seen genetic traits can change very quickly depending on the "mother" and "father".

Naruto who carries the Uzumaki trait (Strong body - Relations to the Senju) and his wife Hinata who carries the Hyuuga trait (Powerful dojutsu - Relations to the first) had possibly the first interbreeding among the Hagoromo/Hamura line since the beginning of time.

The only two clan's to ever come as close was the Senju and the Uzumaki (Hashirama and Mito) who travel back towards Hagoromo himself. However no genetic trait was removed besides the wonderful red hair, which was explained way above.

Back onto the children: It is completely possible for the Byakugan to mutate into another dojutsu, which is still the Byakugan, but possesses another shape or form - Regular eyes until activation (within reason).

This is possible because the strong genetic makeup of both parents could not intercommunicate without things genetically mutating. Now remember: Naruto looked like his father on the outside, but had more of his mother's features on the inside.

These children will have bits and pieces of both parents, but the mutation is what is important here.

Edit; Someone got confused so amma add this here. The Byakugan is the same in the mutation but mutated into a different shape/form = without the white hue.

I really wanted to speak my mind and no this is not correct. It may or may not be true, Kishimoto might even solo my thread by never giving them dojutsu.

I just wanted to show you guy's that it is possible. Well tell me what you think.

I'm annoyed at myself for being too lazy to read your well thought out and said theory, but i will at the very least give you a compliment for your good work.

Nicely done.

Well said. I agree COMPLETELY. I really hope Himawari at least gets the Byakugan, I don't think it'd look quite right with Bolt though.

As a biochemistry major I agree on many of the points you have raised, but you must consider that after each generation the link between the past generations weaken. Maybe you can understand by this example:

The first humans who gave birth to our "Great" grand parents are not like the current us, I would even argue they were much smarter than we were! Your wisdom teeth is no longer needed to break down big Nuts haha.

But the point, that you should have mentioned first NOT Last is that the Huyga where not seen with other clan members, they inbred. They All had the same traits.

Now Naruto contaminated the Huyga gene pool, now the power of the rinnegan might be possible for the kids to attain!

Nice theory with good explanation, it seems logic with the genetic.
I do hope the mini-series can conclude on this also...

Hey! I agree, I really should of pointed out that in the beginning but I had to compile all of this information at once and I didn't want to overwhelm the reader lol. Now about the generation getting weaker, I must say I actually thought about it in the Naruto-verse. As you've pointed out (and I) most Hyuuga's interbred with each other to keep the gene active, and from pictures of Hamura with the Byakugan and Kaguya we can clearly see that it's the same current Byakugan that we see now.

The Uzumaki must have interbred with each other to keep the red hair genetic trait as well. Because if not it wouldn't explain why Naruto didn't have the striking resemblance of most Uzumaki clan members (So this would mean Nagato and Karin's parents were full blood Uzumaki, this was probably obvious because both were shown to have even more prowess in Uzumaki prowess than Naruto. Such as mastering the Rinnegan (Nagato was truly a strong character) and Karin who had chakra that healed on contact, not to mention the chakra chain's that activated).

So the only generation gap that really affected both Bolt and his sister, was Naruto's. Hmm... If the Uzumaki turn out to be closer to the Senju then we originally thought, then you might be correct on this Rinnegan idea. Anyway, I'd give them a 15% chance possibility. Or is that too low?

this is pretty much what i thought as well. because honestly it makes almost no sense for both his children not to have some form of dojutsu. the byakugan is obviously a dominate gene since hyuuga inbred and all hyuuga posses it. so even if hinata was to breed outside the clan, like she did, her children would still have a high chance of having a byakugan. kishi even said once that if a hyuuga and uchiha had a child that one eye would be sharingan and the other would be byakugan. so if the gene was strong enough that it would show up even if they already had a dojutsu, that makes it odd that naruto and hinata's children show no sign of it whatsoever. which lead me to believe that the dojutsu did mutate. as someone as already pointed out, they are bridging hogoromo's and hamura's bloodlines back into one. that means it is a huge possibility that they could unlock the original sharingan that kaguya had, or maybe even a new one.

My Theory:

The Byakugan is a recessive trait, the only reason all Hyuga have it is because their clan (like the Uchiha) is highly inbred.

If they end up having a different form of the Byakugan (Uzumaki + Hyuga) it would be an example of incomplete dominance.

so just imagine Naruto and Hinata's traits like this..

If Kishimoto decides not to give them a dojutsu= Uzumaki genes dominant over Hyuga (note: in biology, dominance does not equal better)

Right, so Senju + Uchiha= rinnegan

and...

Uzumaki + Hyuga= ?? like OP said, this is the first time in the Naruto verse

I wonder what kind of creative powers will Kishi come up for this new dojutsu if there is one. More or less overpowered than the dreaded rinnegan?

. the byakugan is obviously a dominate gene since hyuuga inbred and all hyuuga posses it. so even if hinata was to breed outside the clan, like she did, her children would still have a high chance of having a byakugan.

If it were a dominant trait, there would be no need to commit incest. Only one parent would require that one trait in order for the offspring to have it.
