First of all and this is unrelated. Hinata did not get some Hamura powerup in the last.

Anyways. Back to the topic.Naruto's chakra mode. Now naruto had those sage horisontal pupils, so he was in sage mode. The question is was it RSM or his lesser one KSM i believe.
There are two ways you can get to somewhat of a solution.

1. Naruto surrounded his hand in whatever chakra mode we are debating and reached into hinata's heart and removed the spell toneri placed on her. I don't know about you but to me this looks like something he can only do when utilizing his sage of six paths chakra. Kinda like healing kakashi's eye and saving gai even after he unlocked the finale gate. So to me. This proves that he was in RSM.

2. Now this one is all about comparing RSM and KSM to the mode he uses in the last. There are so mamy inconsistencies tho that it is hard to pick. Now if you watch the last. Naruto goes straight from base mode to the unknown mode. The only mode in which he can do this is for RSM. If you go through the manga. There really isn't a RM. Once he is using the sage of six path's power he also gets the horizontal pupils. So RM is RSM.

For KSM, he needs to either be in KM and then gather sage chakra or be in sage mode and activate KM.

Now. Unless Naruto has somehow been able to bypass the basic rule of gathering sage chakra which says one has to be still, then he has to be in RSM or RM whichever.

But if he is in RM, where are his three remaining goudama? And also, in RM he doesnt have the burning look that he has in the last.

So he could also be in KSM. And the creators of the movie simply ignored him having to be still to gather chakra.

Now if i were to pick. I could say that he didn't summon TSB cuz he didn't need them. So based on number one and making assumptions in 2. I would say he is more likely in RM.

naruto wasn't using the chakra from the other eight bijuu. I don't think it replenishes itself so I think Naruto was just using rsm (independent from bijuu chakra) with only Kurama's chakra

I would go with RSM since like you said like he did with Kakashi in restoring his eyesight he did with Hinata and removed Toneri's control over her from him. With RM I'm pretty sure that would not of been possible but I'm just guessing anyway maybe he could do it in either mode who knows but I wouldn't bet on it.

You make a very good point. I have to agree with it. It seems to be more Rikudou mode than a Kyuubi chakra sage mode, since Naruto has to gather chakra. Though what is unexplained, is the pigments around his eyes. He didn't have those in RM.

I think maybe cuz its a different source of sage chakra. Not the kind he has to gather but the sage of six paths chakra.

Unless he has clones somewhere else constantly gathering chakra, Wouldn't be a first.
