Kooji: did you hear what the *hic* doc said?

He tells Ariya about everything that happened, followed by Garrett's exact words

Garrett puts on his glasses and pulls out his miniature notebook, taking a deep breath.

"Kooji... I did some research into your false Rinnegan. Apparently, because of your eye structure and chakra flow... The false Rinnegan amplifies your Sharingan's Jutsu... Basically, even if you don't have your false Rinnegan active, it's effects "bleed over", in a sense, to your Sharingan.

When I was observing you and Kallen while you were both under the genjutsu, my Byakugan noticed that Kallen's chakra points that were centered in her brain/ head area were... Irregular. As if... They were closing, getting sealed. We know that genjutsu merely disrupts chakra; I've never seen a genjutsu of your caliber before.

My theory is this... Because of your circumstance and ability, it was because of this that Kallen suffered her symptoms today... Her inner balance is thrown off... And that's an understatement."

Garrett looks at Kooji with a dead serious look. He speaks concisely and emphasizes the importance of his words.

"Kooji, you must listen to me. If you keep doing you're doing with Kallen, I've hypothesized that her Chakra points will get sealed... Effects can range from memory loss, a permanent state of genjutsu... Or at the worst, death."

"You cannot do this anymore... Please, you have to understand. Kallen has some damage that isn't irreversible, but you must give me time to research a proper treatment..."

After he finishes there is a profound silence and the only sound that can be heard is Kooji taking a shot of rum and slamming the glass down on the counter

Kallen sits outside, looking up at the sky. "Hmm.."

Ariya: hey kallen

Kallen waves at Ariya. "Hi..."

 

[Uchiha Kooji]

Kooji sees ariya walk away and turns around, getting back to his drink

Kallen walks back into the tavern and takes a seat at a booth. She yawns and rubs her eyes. "I need some sleep..." she says as she lays her head down.

 

[Uchiha Kooji]

Kooji whips around when he hears Kallen's voice and quickly wipes the tears from his face. He walks over to the booth with his drink and sits across from Kallen. Reaching into his pouch, he pulls out one of the food pills Garrett gave him and places it on the table

Kallen looks up and sees the pill sitting on the table. She picks it up and swallows it. Her eyes then dart up to Kooji's. She notices his eyes look kind of red and she asks, "Are you ok? You look like you've been crying..."

 

[Uchiha Kooji]

Kooji immediately looks down. "No...ive just been drinking. You probably shouldnt look into my eyes anymore..."

Kallen sighs and moves over to Kooji. She wraps her arms around him and says, "Whether you were drinking or not, it's obvious you're sad..."

 

[Uchiha Kooji]

When Kallen wraps her arms around Kooji, she can feel he is shaking "I-...I'm a monster..."

Kallen holds him tighter. "No you aren't. Besides, what you did was an accident and it wasn't your fault. What happened to me was going to happen anyway. Your eyes just sped up the process...."

---------- Meanwhile, at the Medical Academy ----------

Garrett and his team are hard at work. They perform analyses, tests using samples of blood and chakra Garrett hat taken from Kooji and Kallen, running multiple scenarios and simulations, trying to obtain favorable outcomes.

Kallen releases Kooji and stands up from the booth. "I'll explain later..." she walks outside again.

After she leaves Kooji chugs the rest of his drink and sways a bit, then lays his forehead down on the table. He slams his fist down on the table and clenches his fists

Kallen leans against the wall outside and exhales deeply. When she does, instead of breath fire comes out. Kallen screams and then clamps her hands over her mouth. I just breathed....fire... she thinks while slowly slumping down till she is sitting on the ground.

Kooji picks his head up and takes a deep breath. He walks outside and sees Kallen sitting on the ground. Walking over to her, he sits down and lays his head down on her shoulder
