[Suggestion] Narutobase needs a change for the better.

I'm sure I'm not the first to notice that the... shall I say interest... of threads these days has gone significantly down. With great debaters and thread creators seemingly thrown out of their element and more and more members leaving everyday, clearly something has changed for the worse.

Why is it that there have been little to no interesting debates lately? Why is it that the only threads in the latest threads section are either questions answered easily by google or the wiki? Why is it that 4 of the 5 deemed "hottest threads" are all predictions of a chapter that has already come out?

I propose a "lightening up" of the rules. Sure, I don't know much of how the inner workings of the machine that is Narutobase work. I'm not a moderator or an administrator. But being a normal everyday member who has noticed the lack of quality these days makes me sad.

I don't have any specific suggestions, but when at least 3 legitimate threads in the Latest Threads section are closed within minutes of being posted just because they show a character in a more critical light, doesn't make sense to me. Now I'm no mod, but what is deemed "character bashing" or "trolling" or "flaming" does not always seem to be so, and this makes good threads with room for debate and discussion scrutinized by the moderators and immediately closed.



This may not be considered a suggestion because I truly don't have an answer for these issues I see. But maybe with a calm discussion based on facts and opinions, we can have this site progress for the better, as it was not even 3 months ago.

My opinion is that they may try to be making it too "perfect" if that makes sense. Like anything that even seems like it might be character bashing, or trolling, or even just a subject that's been done before is closed. But all that leaves are the boring threads we have now, and questions that noobs are too lazy to look up on google.

The Mods want this place to be a friendly, family site, which is why all these rules are here. Too bad most of us are past that age. Any mod who posts will probably say something like "We work hard for you enjoy this site. You're being ungrateful and childish. You agreed to abide by our rules when you join. Good point,but I think mods changed the hottest thread thing due to trolls and such.I do miss those 200+ post of just clean debating.

True. True. But personally I enjoyed the vs threads that seem to be gone now. Even if they were overdone, it was still interesting to see even a single new idea or take on a situation. I joined at the peak of Itachi vs. Minato threads and each one was as interesting as the next. Idk. Maybe it's just me. But there are definitely still some questions to debate about.

Actually i don't understand what you're trying to say. are you telling us that the Discussion section of NB became boring because of character bashing rule ?
Criticizing a character is different from Bashing it, for exemple when you say "I hate Itachi because he killed his clan, and i think he's evil" well, that's allowed, but it's prohibited to say "Itachi is a ****** loser and stupid******".
another point, is that you shouldn't blame the mods and the admins for the memeber's deeds, members break the rules and they eventually get infracted, or banned , and that will result their anger, therefore their depart.

He makes a good point. The quality of threads depend on the members who make them. Us members can't complain about the fact that us members are making boring threads.

Yes. I understand. I'm saying that the format of the site changing, and the quality of threads slipping has a positive correlation. Personally, for me, the fun was going into a hottest thread or weekly thread and reading 20+ pages of debates and discussion on a certain topic. Because those don't exist anymore 99% of threads die after 13 or so comments. Where's the fun in that?

100% agree with this post.The fact that the small amount of good threads that actually are being produced end being abandoned after an hour or so.Sadly i don't think anything will change on this site.

Personally, I don't mind character bashing, but I can see why there are rules against it. As for the "Hottest Threads Section" I have no idea what the hell is going on there. I haven't clicked on any of them in a while because it's basically the same shit over and over, and I couldn't care less about predictions nor forum games. I think there should be a revision as to what determines whether or not a thread is "Hot". Maybe a voting system of some sorts, idk.
