In addition to this thread, those who are interested should post or request to join
Syllabus
June 1st - I must know by this date all participants in the debate tournament.
June 3rd - By this date I will have come up with tournament bracket and found judges.
June 5th - This is the date the tournament starts (as well as the day public school gets out in most states.) By this point all debaters must have agreed on matchups and informed a tournament administrator of their decision so a thread for the debate can be made and judges can be decided on for each debate.
June 19th - This is the date the first round is officially over and judges can begin issuing verdicts.
June 22nd - Second round begins. All judges are expected to have issued verdicts by this date.
July 6th - Second round officially ends and judges can begin issuing verdicts.
July 9th - Third round begins. All judges are expected to have issued verdicts by this date.
July 23rd - Third round officially ends and judges can begin issuing verdicts.
July 26th - Fourth round begins. All judges are expected to have issued verdicts by this date.
August 9th - Fourth round officially ends and judges can begin issuing verdicts.
August 12th - By this date, judges will be done issuing their verdicts and a tournament winner is announced.
Please understand that this tournament is going to be a summer-long thing. If there's going to be an extended period of time where you won't have access to a computer or the internet, you might not want to participate in this.
If there are any questions on the rules, you are encouraged to VM and PM the previously linked names.

Rules and Regulations:
Once in the tournament, there's a set of ground rules that must be memorized and acknowledged, as judges and the host should not be responsible for constantly reminding the debaters or judges of the stipulations. Tournament Administrators
The tournament administrators are Beansandcornbread2 and Zexion. Administrators will be in charge organizing the tournament, keeping things on schedule, and working around issues if (when) they arise.
Joining the Tournament
If you want to participate as a debater in the tournament, post in
Picking a match
Debaters have two days to decide on a matchup to debate. If they do not come up with one, a tournament administrator will assign one. All matchups should be decided on by June 5th, and informed me of them by then.
Completing a reply
Both debaters get a designated 48 hours to make a post. Each debater can use one 24 hour extension per debate. All debates are three posts each, so the entire tournament runs on the same schedule, but if they choose to by mutual agreement they can opt out of making a third post. The first round will end 14 days after it begins, followed by a three day judging period. The next round of the tournament will begin after the three days. Failure to make a reply within the allotted time frame will result in the debate being judged as it is.
If debaters follow these guidelines then debates should be completed in 12 days maximum. 13 days max if one debater uses an extension, and 14 days max if both debaters use extensions.
Posting
Debaters can choose to hold their debate in the VS section but otherwise they will happen in the tournament group.
Judges
The tournament administrators will assign matches to judges. If a judge requests to be assigned to a certain debate then their request will try to be accomodated but not guaranteed. There will be two judges assigned to each debate, and a third will be assigned if a tiebreaker is needed.
If a debater has an issue with a certain user judging their debate, they must inform a tournament administrator before the match begins, who will replace that user with a different judge.
Judges are not allowed to publicly talk about the debates until after the debate is complete and they have posted their verdict.
Judges cannot also be participants.
Judges are expected to issue a verdict within the three days allotted for them to do so. Failure to do so will result in the judge being mass neg repped by the group another judge being assigned to the debate. Whichever judge issues a verdict first (the original judge or the replacement judge) will be the one counted.
If a someone calls into question the validity of a judge's verdict, a poll will be made in this group to decide whether the majority of people think that judge's verdict was sound. If the majority thinks the judgment was unfair or incomplete, the judge's verdict will be overturned and another judge will be picked for that debate. It cannot be a debater that calls the verdict into question, it must be someone else.
Cheating
Outside help is prohibited. Other users cannot knowingly help debaters. This includes linking them to previous threads involving the same two characters, or linking them to other reference materials. The result of cheating is disqualification.

We will be expecting a shortage of judges for this tournament. So if you are willing to read through debates and can make unbiased decisions, your help with judging would be greatly appreciated.
