I have voluntarily asked someone to make an ava for me only 3-5 times( twice for a mod event). Rest of my avas were gifted to me by people who got bored seeing the one I was using.

I either use ones that are already made or make them myself. Since I don't like using flashy avatars with a lot of effects, i make ones with real people or digital art which require little to no effort. It takes 2 minutes to make one so that's why I change them often.

I do that too. Many of my avas were simple images I liked and cropped them for myself with simple effects at times. I just don't change them that often.
