That would ruin Sasukes character but yeah essentially that is what Kishimoto-san is doing right now.

Have the final fight make up and be friends and everyone lives happily ever-after.(SasuSakura;NaruHin, and all favorite coupling happens).

I still think orochimaru will eventually come with something by which he can take over sasuke.. and we'll still get a naruto vs sasuke, but maybe not, maybe he really has changed..
