Im going to talk a little bit about Naruto.
Now, Naruto started off at a prankster, a little brat with no friends, no talent, and no support.
But all that changed, Naruto fought to prove he could become Hokage. He showed people they could change (Gaara, Neji). He also gave people hope. He has a certain confidence, a certain feature about him that make people follow.
He understands what it means to hate, he understands pain. This makes him able to understand others quite easily.
He also knows he wouldn't have made it this far without help. Its like the whole point of this story. Understanding someone, feeling their pain.
Now we know Naruto is Ashura's reincarnation. And the Sage tells Naruto this. Now at this time the Sage is also talking to Sasuke, most likely telling him he is Indra's reincarnation. Now that Sage said himself that choosing one over the other cause this problem, so he give both Naruto and Sasuke his power.
Now the Sage also said himself that he created Ninshu to connect people with chakra. He believed it mustn't be used to further ones stength with chakra( Ninjutsu ). He wanted people to use chakra to connect with one another, to understand others pain, happiness and sadness( Ninshu ).
A good example of this is when Naruto fist bumps bee, or when Iruka fist bumped Bee.
Anyway, I believe what the Sage said about Ninshu forshadows Naruto's future.

Now, these chapters, Naruto is able to connect with every single shinobi, they feel his pain. This is also a good example for what the Sage said about Ninshu.
I believe this forshadows his future. After his fight with Madara. The Shinobi will be allied, but their will still be conflict. Naruto is going to be the one to bring true peace to the Shinobi world
Also, Naruto and Sasuke showdown is IMO not going to happen. Its pointless now. This is their fight. Their fight against Madara.
