Naruto would need to train with the Sharingan, but he wouldn't be able to proficient like Sasuke and the others. His expertise doesn't involve Dojutsu, but Tailed Beast power. He has the body and Sasuke has the eyes.

On top that, Naruto isn't a pure blood Uchiha nor a half, so he would not be able to use it to his full advantage. Kakashi was only able to handle it, because of Obito.

Naruto with that plot-eye would've made the entire manga too boring. It would've given him an unfair advantage over Kurama, thus only increasing his power more and more. Though one might argue that Naruto isn't retarded enough to willingly awake the MS, I suppose. But Jiraiya's death might've been enough of a mental trauma to awake it nonetheless. One might even argue that Kurama's healing factor might offset the MS's deterioration-by-useage.

In short, Naruto would've become an even bigger Sue than he already became at the end of the manga.

Just having a Sharingan doesn't mean anything. You actually need to be intelligent to make good use of a sharingan. Therefore, no, Naruto would not be a good sharingan user.

He had his ass manipulated throughout the entire story, and when he finally got in a position to make up his mind he could only think of 'revolution'. Wow.
