That's very Machiavelli-ish, and Machiavelli didn't have a good heart..doing bad to achieved a greater good. The only problem is, that in this case the "bad" is completely horrible. I just find it hard to believe that someone who assassinates their entire clan has a good heart and a sane mind. I would've gone with the revolt, even if I hate war I prefer my clan dying while fighting for something they believe than dying by my own hands. But..that's only my opinion, I see your point though.
