Sorry if there is a thread about this already(seems like there would be) can't find one though on the search bar.
Also sorry if this is stating the obvious.
It has come to my attention that a considerable amount of people are under the impression that Naruto beat pain 100% fair and square,
or more commonly that the advantages Naruto did get are insignificant, and that the fight would have had similar results without them.
I find this baffling.
I immediately recognized that Pain had a immense disadvantage, the instant the fight began.
Kishimoto, seems to do this in most of his fights which makes the results very controversial.
Which I must say I appreciate and enjoy, but some people don't recognize these very important factors in these controversial fights.
I would even go so far as to say the disadvantage's on Pain's part/advantage's on Naruto's part were equal, in amount and importance, as that of the Sasuke, Itachi fight.
While there are many fights where a large amount of people don't recognize important factors.
I chose this fight because it's importance to the story and its constant references in versus threads (for wrong or right arguments).
Make sure to try to read all this before you judge for yourselves, and post.

Factors not to be overlooked
-Pain vs Konoha
Pain (along with Konan) defeated or was on the brink of defeating the whole of Konoha. This at the very least took a small fraction of his chakra.(big factor)
-Nagato's health
Nagato didn't look so hot from the side affects from using his abilities for so long.Not everyone counts this as similarly to the mangekyou sharingan it's a side affect(a decent factor IF you count it, not everyone counts this one though)
-Naruto's chakra
Naruto had very close to full if not full chakra(not that big of a factor)
-Deva paths inability to use his abilities,
You must consider that the 6 paths work TOGETHER and that if even one isn't usable for a long period of time they become MUCH weaker.
Imagine them working completely together.
not even Jiraiya saw them work together 100%, and he still got killed(granted he had no information on them).
my point? If deva path hadn't used the shinra tensei and lost his ability for so long It wouldn't be NEARLY as easy to take out the other paths.(huge factor)
-Motive
Pain's goal was to capture Naruto alive,
while Naruto's motive was to kill.
Pain is a very destructive AOE fighter,
he is a very bad choice to capture jinchuuriki because of this.
He had to tone down his destructive capabilities quite a bit because of this.(huge factor)
-kyuubi
If the kyuubi hadn't been released pain would have probably won in capturing Naruto in the first place.
Secondly even if Naruto did escape somehow pain would have had much MUCH more chakra.
This factor is determined if you count a bijuu as one's power.
I personally don't count a bijuu to be part of someone's power, EVEN if someone has control over it but especially if someone has no control over it.
(I mean it's another person/being/mind and another chakra source giving you very experienced advice, taking over the fight themselves or giving you chakra that you wouldn't have if not for them)but this is a personal choice that doesn't have to be taken into account.
Even with Naruto in the 6 tails cloak and then 8 tails cloak it seemed pain could make the chibaku tensei bigger, remember he's not trying to kill him thats why he didn't make it big enough to kill in the first place.(huge factor if you count it)
-Plot!
The most important factor by far,
some examples
-Naruto just happens to appear right after the use of the massive shinra tensei?
-Hinata just happens to appear right then, and just happens to awaken the kyuubi? (Jiraiya's news of his death Naruto's emotionally crushed yet he's fine.
Naruto arrives at the sight of the village he grew up in,
destroyed with countless people he's known, grown up with and befriended dead, and he's like "oh well",
but Hinata one girl he finds kind of weird gets killed(at least he thinks that) and he goes strait to 4 tails?)
-naruto happens to have 3 clones in mount myoboku?
-Pain/Nagato had access to every single "mainstream" (meaning not invented and probably not kekkei genkai) jutsu,mastered at the age of 10, and yet he only wasted chakra on filling the battle ground with water? I mean come on Pain!
out of all the options he hade, he chose to only do that and never use any other type of elemental jutsu?
and some more bonus "plot no jutsu" on Nagato(this is about Naruto vs Pain not Nagato, thats why it's bonus)
-The famous "talk no jutsu" "plot no jutsu" scene,
everyone is aware the Nagato can switch from 6 paths abilities (plus his mastery of "all" jutsu, but like kakashi he only uses a small selection of abilities) right? Nagato had enough energy to revive everyone in Konoha he killed, lets say he didn't happen to trust in Naruto, another chibaku tensei anyone?
I mean it's like start over Naruto, but on hard mode now.
In conclusion?
No naruto would not have won this fight if it was a 1v.s.1(more like 1v.s. 6) death match both with full chakra and full use of abilities.
Also some things to clear up, no I still don't believe this would be anywhere near a cake walk for Pain,
although by no means would it be a nail bitter.
Although I do believe Naruto has recently surpassed Pain and EVEN most likely Nagato (although like 99% of Naruto fans know this) with BM.
but you never know
If there's anything I've learned the hype and feats of a new mode for any anime character ever, usually settle's down later.
but still I highly HIGHLY doubt it.
