Hinata's performance against Neji was never praised at all which hints that she's a weak and irrelevant character and it's clear Neji held back the entire time. Seriously, if a weaker Naruto could apply what he learned from Kakashi and evade Kiba's attacks for a period of time, then Hinata's speed isn't pressuring a stronger Naruto.

Hime would make for a better fight , she was already pressing tenketsu while hinata had not the skill to even make them a relevant part of her jyuken , her skill is wayy inferior to her much younger daughter at the time and its no wonder hanabi was>>>>her.
OT: Naruto wins neg diff , he knows about jyuken and will use his clones to overwhlem hinata in cqc the same way he overwhelmed sasuke on the rooftop , then he ends it with rendan.
