This was a discussion on another thread, but I think its deserving of its own thread.
Does anyone else out there agree that a great Naruto game would be a game like Skyrim but set in the Naruto verse.
You start out, you choose your specialty, and village of origin.
Specialties would be either a kekkai genkai, or to be a jinchuriki host. You start out as a basic genin level ninja, and you begin your life doing little odd jobs around your village, or traveling the world as a rogue ninja. You can learn new Jutsu, which could be equipped as attacks to the top buttons on your controller, or gain weapons, and equip those instead. Just as in skyrim you can equip and get better with certain types of weapons and magic. Instead of dragon shouts and special race abilities, you can learn host transformations and use of your kekkai genkai.
there would be different villages to travel to and find missions in. instead of Jarls there would be Kages, but you need to become a warrior of note before you get work from them. Everyone you meet could have different missions for you. Escorts, assassinations, removing bandit gangs, strange creatures, rogue ninjas terrorizing villages, hunts for special items, and so on. And of course a main storyline, about your quest to, well not sure what the best idea for a main storyline would be.
You could learn tons of new jutsu, through scrolls that have the secrets inscribed on them, or being taught by the shinobi you meet around the world. You can become faster, stronger, learn to jump higher, run quicker, hit harder, and have many skills to level up. and have your chakra level based on a leveling up system.
Maybe instead of having jinchuriki as a choice, its just a choice of kekkai genkai, and the storyline could be about taming the tailed beasts and the reward at the end could be your choice of one tailed beast, which would grant you massive new power. But have the entire world be full of missions so there will be plenty to do after beating the main storyline.
Have the starting looks of your character chosen by you, but have the good and bad choices you make change your looks, like fable, along with any powerful jutsu you learn that could possibly alter your appearance.
Have the combat and movement system be like a massively upgraded version of Mortal Kombat Shoulin Monks, but like Elder Scrolls games have a huge map to travel, and the ability to fast travel to previous locations.
Instead of arrows, you have different types of shuriken and kunai you can equip as long range weapons, as well as short and long range jutsu, and of course your melee abilities. And be able to level up the abilities for all of these things.
Maybe like Jack Spicer said, have a ninja swordsmen of the mist line of quests, and the reward be your choice of powerful sword.
Post your thoughts and ideas on this, if you have any. I think this could be an awesome idea, and with the touch of some professional story writers and game developers could be made into an awesome game I would definitely buy. I saw on google a guy on another site made a thread about a Naruto version of WoW, but this would be cooler. Though a Naruto MMO would be kind of cool to.
