He won against nagato because he was using talk no jutsu and convince nagato to stop the war .Nagato give up his live to revive people.

Edo nagato will have kill him ,but itachi save him and seal nagato.

If Naruto actually wanted to kill sasuke he could do it, in part 1 he could have killed him in their last fight, but he didn't wanted to it was not his intention, and with the power he has now he can kill him but I dont think he will he will probably beat him up and make him change his mind.
