Agreed. Naruto is out of character in the film. He suddenly never "truly" liking Sakura and not being able to differentiate love contradicts his canon character's development and logic. It's just a ridiculous direction done to conform to the majority of fans' wishes for Naruto and Hinata to get together rather than going Kishimoto's own direction. It's a money scheme, likely conceived by Jump. Kishimoto could just as easily made Hinata get together with Kiba, Naruto with Sakura, and Sasuke with Karin since those seem far more logical and developed, but they simply aren't "popular pairings" and would just piss people off. I swear, it's like he and Jump made the ending and the final film into a soap opera, which is incredibly cringe-worthy...If they wanted to go that route, fine, but they didn't have to contradict Naruto's established characterizations or make it so obvious.
NaruSaku was popular aswell as SasuSaku. They both makes sense, seeing as how Naruto and Sasuke are close to Sakura.Even more so with Naruto liking Sakura the whole story, and Sakura liking Sasuke the whole story.Sasuke never liked Karin romantically, nor was he close to her.
