Naruto Surpassing Hashirama Idea

Okay so it's become a bit of a theme that Naruto surpasses all of his peers and teachers through hard work and dedication. That's the gist of it, he surpassed Kakashi, Jiraiya, Minato and probably Killer bee too. The theme kishi is portraying is that the next generation always surpasses the old one but then we have Madara & Hashirama recently. They're literally the stuff of legend and their power levels are ridiculously out of scale with everyone Naruto has learnt from so far.

So it's very possible/likely that Naruto will gain a new power up or ability to overcome Hashirama. That's the pattern but it looks unlikely anytime soon considering how much Kishi is pushing in our faces how strong and compassionate this man was. So...little theory- what if Naruto DOESNT surpass Hashirama in terms of pure strength alone like he has with his other sensei. What if Naruto is just the one to bring about peace and that's how he surpasses him. Doing what he ultimately never could? Just a little thought.

Seems interesting, I get that he may not be able to surpass them in sheer power, but maybe in a sense of accomplishment, yes.
If he achieves peace, he could surpass Hashirama in terms of success.

But my personal opinion is, Sasuke & Naruto will surpass Madara & Hashirama, strength wise as well.

Naruto will never be as strong as Hashirama because the DNA keeps getting diluted as generations go by. Pure Senju like Hashirama and Tobirama inherit genes to make them extremely powerful at a young age. Just think of it this way...WITHOUT the Kyuubi, Naruto wouldn't be as strong as he is now. At most, he would be at Sage mode, which would put him in top 15. But there's no way he'll ever surpass Hashirama. Hashirama came from the dark days of shinobi humanity, where kids would be put to war, women raped, and even Uchiha killing their own to increase power. The age Naruto comes from is too civilized to be raised under such harsh circumstances. Hashirama came from an era where people would abuse forbidden jutsus that could bring the dead alive or seal souls in hell for eternity. Naruto's generation was raised in peaceful times.

I don't think he'll ever be able to surpass Hashirama, even more so surpass Madara. Leave Madara to Hashirama and Obto to Naruto. That way the power levels will be more balanced.

Has time keep moving by the next generation would always and definitely surpass the previous one in terms of every thing the previous had and even better it. if naruto too had been brought up during the era of hashirama's time who knows how powerful he would have become by now even more the hashirama and madara probably :bouncy:

We can say he surpassed his predecessor powers in terms of nullifying the potent threat using his current powers and that is considered surpassing too.

Well, I still think he will surpass him in power. The younger generation surpasses the older is more focused on Naruto and Sasuke and they can still get stronger.

Naruto can still grow while Hashirama can't. The difference in power is displayed by the techniques they use. Naruto can still aquire jutsu

Nothing is too set in stone yet so my idea is somehow the creator is gonna make him stronger than madara and hashirama or at least put him in the same league just because hes the main character and "prophecy child"

Yes this is true but child if prophecy doesn't mean ultimate strength, just the one who can bring about peace- the way he changes people with his positive attitude and the way he felt pain and also overcome it makes him the perfect candidate for peacekeeper.

One argument could be what Hashirama said last chapter- "We need to get stronger so that the adults will listen to us" this quote basically means that Naruto will have to have great strength also to ensure peace. But tbh he already has great power, he may/may not surpass Hashirama.

That said it IS a fight anime and it's likely Naruto will surpass him in both. It just seems pretty unlikely right now.

I suspect that Naruto won't surpass Hashirama (power wise) until right before the final battle.

Naruto will defenitly surpass him when it comes to feats however (bringing peace, dealing with tailed beasts, and saving the world). That right there puts him above Hashirama.

And Naruto did say he would become the greatest Hokage of all.
