I feel sometimes Kishi has a good idea to make a character powerful and then beat them with proper build up and then he reaches time constraints that force him to rush the story forward. Hence the character looks like they were nerfed.
About how Gaiden could end, I feel Orochimaru will play a part in locating bald shin and together with Naruto and sasuke they will probably take bald shin down. I think you could be right about the connection between the two, I feel Orochimaru would probably know more about bald shin than anyone else to be honest.

Its funny. You say "ms user" as if shin was really on "MS" level. Shin's MS is fodder.

-It makes kamui only with the help of juubi minions.

Shin is fodder. And introducing Boruto's and Mitzuki's powers wouldn't be aspulls since they're hyped to be the bests of their generation. Boruto is hyped as a prodigy.

Puting them both together against Shin would be fair (if you give Boruto and Mitzuki chunnin level, which i think they have).
