Read the damn thread before you post something stupid. U_U Unless you're posting about how Lord Sasuke solos, then sure knock yourself out.
I'm know some of you are like "WTF" right now. Naruto should have the same approach as Fairy Tail. Fairy Tail is straightforward and keep it's core. Wizards that join guilds, take Job request and get paid(hopefully). On the main character(Natsu) spare time he looks for his Dragon friend. Depending on the Job, it will become the arc itself.<--- That's what I want to be like Naruto.
Now what does this have to with the Naruto series?
Canon-wise(Do not count the Databook stats, story-canon-wise), How many missions have Naruto been on?
Missions that were not on a personal level. By that I mean something Naruto would have done whether or not he was authorize to do. Example: Going after Sasuke, if Tsunade had told him not to look for Sasuke, Naruto would will still go because it's on a personal level.
Naruto has been on one real mission. The one with the bridge builder guy. Two if you count the search for Tsunade.
Shippuden Naruto hasn't been regular mission.(None personal. Note: Outside of filler arcs)
1. Save Gaara from Akatsuki.
2. Sasuke retrieval part 2.(Failed)
3. Finish his training and help Team Shikamaru.
4. Sasuke retrieval part 3/Capture Itachi(Failed)
Saving the village from Pain... well.. defeating Pain. If you want to call that mission, sure.
Last we have the War. Again, if you want call that a mission... do it.
You'll argue he's been busy with the Akatsuki. That shouldn't turn him away from his original agenda as a Shinobi. The Akatsuki should have been mix within this system. Example: Sasuke's search for Itachi got him involve with Deidara.
Fillers take this route to a degree, but usually it's stale. I'd like to see Kishimoto-style mission which lead Naruto to take decision like Sasuke at the 5 Kage summit or the Kakashi/Rin situation.
Seriously, where the hell is the espionage, conspiracy(Akatsuki.. I guess), or the "kill Sakura or Sasuke die" shit?
Naruto is still one of my favorite manga and anime, regardless.
Discuss:
- How would you like the Naruto story to progress?
- Lord Sasuke > Your favorite character, how does that make you feel again?
- BSM Naruto still fodder?
