The folks over at Hokage’s Room, the official community for Naruto games by Namco Bandai, submitted fan questions to Andrew Davis, the Localization Producer for Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2!
QUESTION #1: Will there be a naruto ultimate ninja storm 3, no matter the the results ninja storm 2, and if so what will be done to make it a even greater and more creative experience. – Virgil100

ANSWER: We’re definitely game for seeing an iteration of the next version of the game, but currently we are concentrating our efforts to make sure Storm 2 would give the best experience we can possible, so right now, there’s no real comment we can give for Storm 3. Thanks for the enthusiasm though!

QUESTION #4: Will Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 expand through DLC or will it stop at extra support characters like it’s predecessor, will there be DLC missions, playable characters, and new game features that’ll make UNS 2 bigger? – AkaRed

ANSWER: Believe it or not, we don’t have any plans for DLC for the game. In the previous Storm 1 game, we had the Sound 4 among others as DLC, but we decided that there was nothing holding us back from being able to have everything included in the time we had to make the game, so everything can be unlocked through gameplay this time.

QUESTION #5: Why did you decide to change the story mode free roam from 3D to fixed camera? Many fans of the series are wondering if it had anything to do with the Xbox’s abilities. Was it because the Xbox couldn’t handle the version from UNS1 or was it a creative decision to make the change? – Supaduce

ANSWER: In the Storm 1 game, we wanted to recreate the Konoha Village, so we made it a free roam 3D, but after we got feedback from our fans, we found out that there was too much space for no real purpose in the 3D field. The 3D didn’t really enhance everyone’s feel in the Konoha Village, so this time around, we decided to revert to 2.5D (using 2D with depth) and have the creators of the anime draw each and every 2D field in the game. This resulted in a more authentic Naruto world with more life in it. We’re hoping everyone will agree with the vibrant images we can provide through this. As for the Xbox 360 abilities, there is nothing different between the Xbox 360 version and PS3 version. I think our fans will notice very little, if any, differences between the versions.

Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 Producer Q&A!
Oct 4, 2010
Hey Ninjas! A few weeks ago I asked you to submit questions for the producer of Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2. Well, I just received the responses from Andrew Davis, Localization Producer and can't wait to share them with you now. Also, want to earn some quick ryo? Share this post on Twitter and I'll reward you with 750 ryo! Just send me the link to the tweet here and you'll be rewarded. AND NOW ONTO THE GOOD STUFF....

QUESTION #1: Will there be a naruto ultimate ninja storm 3, no matter the the results ninja storm 2, and if so what will be done to make it a even greater and more creative experience. - Virgil100

ANSWER: We're definitely game for seeing an iteration of the next version of the game, but currently we are concentrating our efforts to make sure Storm 2 would give the best experience we can possible, so right now, there's no real comment we can give for Storm 3. Thanks for the enthusiasm though!

QUESTION #2: What made you decide to include Lars Alexandersson from Tekken 6 as a character in Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 2? - MissTemari

ANSWER: When we started to work on Storm 2, we looked around for interesting ways to add more fun to the game. With that, it kind of came natural for us to consider including Lars into the game since Kishimoto-sensei designed the costume for Lars in Tekken 6. And hence, we worked closely with the licensor and the Tekken Team to introduce a rather unique approach towards character inclusion.

QUESTION #3: Hi, first of all, the game looks amazing! SO my question, after a ultimate jutsu, will the level be affected by the particular jutsu? If Gaara would do a Giant Sand Burial, will there be sand all over? Thank you - Kiuubi

ANSWER: Some of the stages are affected by the moves made, such as how Sakura destroys the entire level, and changing the mechanics of game play. For the regular ultimate jutsu, we wanted to make sure that the playing field will retain the same set, or else there could be a lot of exploits, so we decided on making the ultimate jutsu not directly affect the playing field.

QUESTION #4: Will Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 expand through DLC or will it stop at extra support characters like it's predecessor, will there be DLC missions, playable characters, and new game features that'll make UNS 2 bigger? - AkaRed

QUESTION #6: How many jutsus ( on average) will each character have, and will there be an option to turn off the support characters? - shadowuser2

ANSWER: I guess it depends on what we would define as jutsus here. If we're speaking of ultimate jutsus, each character will have 1 specific signature ultimate jutsu set, but if we're speaking of the different visual display of jutsus, there are a few more combinations available. We'd like our fans to enjoy finding them all out themselves. As for support characters, yes, turning support characters off is a feature now.

QUESTION #7: What are some special features in this game that other games may or may not have had? - SabakunoKiri

ANSWER: Apart from the overall high-level cell shaded graphics and fluidity, this game is expanding how battles are fought on a 3D plane. The game has speed and battle based functions which we are proud to provide which are easily played by beginners, but yet has enough depth to make experts play with variation. We're hoping our fans will find that the battle system this time around is a step upward from our previous version.

QUESTION #8: How does it feel putting Lars, a Tekken fighter, into the world of Naruto which has different fighting style and mechanics compared to Tekken? - skarred

ANSWER: To be honest, it did feel awkward at first, but based on the design concept that Kishimoto-sensei made which made his character feel more from the Naruto series, and with the help of the Tekken Team, we were able to meld Lars into the Naruto world pretty well we believe. Of course, tying Lars to Naruto directly is difficult, so we only have Lars as a guest character, but we're pretty confident that his inclusion will provide a different fun feel for the game.

QUESTION #9: With the new Ps3 motion coming out will there be any naruto games coming out for it? - shippudendragon

ANSWER: Currently we have no plans for it, but we will be definitely looking into it.
