The only good part was the canon part. The flashback of Gaara's past was long, annoying and unnecessary. I like his character development but we all got the message long ago that he is Naruto's friend. There is no need to reinforce that.

Felt sleepy throughout the episode. At least, the next episode seems slightly more promising. I rather watch new content (fillers) than old content that we have seen a lot of times.

I liked the episode, even the filler part. Ever since the manga ended, any episode fulfilled my Thursday of Naruto. Slow, yeah, but I have no problems with the filler sections.

I actually really liked this episode. Gaara has always been a favorite character of mine and it was really nice to see some attempted character development. By attempted I mean, I didn't like the overuse of flashbacks. The new animated footage? Very nice and if the whole episode was like that, it would have been a 5/5.

The whole first season of Shippuden Gaara white limbo reconciliation scene was so overdone. I swear it was like a full 2.5 minutes.

Flashbacks are holding back the Naruto series. I see that they are really trying to show added character development whether it be with Obito or Gaara but using too many flashbacks is not the way to do this.

So 4/5.

And also, I really wish Kishimoto just did some actual well timed character development episodes. Like in The Last Airbender, "Zuko Alone" is in sync with the main plot but it's just an episode focused on him and his conflicts that has something to do in the future.

Man, when you think about it the Naruto series could have been done so much better in terms of its story. Again, flashbacks are the demise of Naruto.

I gotta agree with the 0.5/5 rating. The only redeeming quality of this episode was the 10% cannon story. Supposedly we weren't gonna get any filler episodes for a while after the mecha naruto bs, but no, half of almost every episode since is filler and then they pull this bullshit and make the entire episode filler except for the first 3 minutes? The episode was absolute crap and I don't want to watch it again.
