I loved the episode. It was amazing and had depth and it was only the first one. I look forward to the rest of them and hope they are just as awesome. Honestly, they should have just added this to the cannon. Like this could have fitted perfectly in part 1.

4/5, Great episode. The animation was nice in most parts. The scene with Minato as the new hokage was epic, with great OST as well.
Kakashi looked awful, poor guy. Rin's death really hit him, and next episode is Minato...
Overall, it was a great opening for the new arc.

Maybe we will see how he ends up dealing with his situation. Maybe he tells him to have no emotion like his Root ANBU.

I feel for Kakashi. In the end he kind of comes to term with her death and that it was all done to protect the village. I felt a little happy inside when Guy said to Minato that he was there for Kakashi because that is what eternal rivals do. Somehow I feel that Guy may play a pivotal role in helping Kakashi recover and heal.

I think that the only mistake in this episode was how they depicted Orochimaru's personality. Supposedly, he was very angry when he learned that he wouldn't become the hokage but yet here he seems rather uninterested.

Yeah true but it was mentioned, I don't remember when exactly, that one of the reasons for Orochimaru becoming rogue was that Hiruzenn chose Minato over him and therefore you would expect that in this episode he woudn't just continue his experiments without showing the slightest emotion.

Easily one of the more interesting fillers thus far.

What I really love about the anime is that emotions are easier to understand when you see how everything plays out. With the manga, it's harder to empathize with the characters sometimes.

I think this arc, ( and the previous episodes about Obito) have done a pretty good job in trying to get the viewers to "feel" Rin's death through the perspective of Kakashi and Obito.

I mean was I the only one who felt it when young Kakashi couldn't wash the blood off of his hands, even though there was nothing there?

I'm adding this filler arc to my head canon. It's just that good, and it's only been one episode so far. So much more epicness to come!!

9/10. Superb start to this arc. The trauma was handled exceptionally. My heart was breaking for Kakashi - not being able to wash the 'blood' off, mistaking that lady at the bookstore for her, not being able to use Chidori - it frigging hurt. Especially for a KakaRin shipper .
Guy was great, he's a true friend. The Onoki appearance was an awesome cameo, Gaara's dad and the previous Ino-Shika-Cho were also pleasant surprises. I actually felt for Danzo when he snapped over his dead friends. I also liked Orochimaru's presence - sorry to disagree Byron, but his face!!! He was clearly PO'd. On the other end of the shipping spectrum, the MinaKushi scene was nice. The ending image of Kakashi putting on the mask was powerful.

If I have one complaint, except for the nice little hospital scene, there wasn't enough Minato - Kakashi interaction. Minato is the only member of the team left and Kakashi's father figure. They should have been talking more than they were

Seeing as Kakashi's going to be at Rin's grave and Kushina's pregant, it looks like we'll be getting most of 607 next week. So, more Obito =D. I hope we get little scenes of him and Pain throughout the arc.
